Catherine Tate hasn't ruled out more children

Bafta nominated comedian and actress Catherine Tate has said that suffering from postnatal depression hasn't put her off having more children.

The 40-year-old Doctor Who star developed the condition after giving birth to her daughter Erin, who is now five years old.

"I hope it won't stop me [having another child], but it does worry me. Also, I want one because I wouldn't like Erin to be an only child," she said, according to Now magazine.

When it came to childcare, Catherine's partner, stage manager Twig Clark, left his job to care for their daughter, allowing her to focus on her career.

Commenting on the option of being a full-time mum, Tate said in an interview with thisislondon.co.uk: "I don't think that would have been the choice for me because I like to work. Especially if you're lucky enough to do something you love.

"I will absolutely say that whatever job I was asked to do, whatever schedule I was asked to work, it is never going to be as hard as looking after a child."

Erin was delivered in 2003 by an emergency caesarean section.
