A new DVD has been launched by the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) to support new mothers in the early days of parenthood.
Mums the Word follows a real-life story of one woman, her birth and becoming a mother for the first time, along with advice and information from medical staff and midwives.
It covers topics such as changing relationships with partners, rights and benefits available, along with tips on breastfeeding and other aspects of caring for a child.
Featuring Alison Hammond from This Morning, the NCT claim that with this DVD, new mothers can be sure they are receiving reliable and trustworthy information from a recognised organisation.
"The NCT is here to support all new mums and we want to give them the confidence and encouragement to enjoy the first few months with their new baby," commented NCT chief executive Belinda Phipps.
Earlier this year, the organisation launched NCT E Dads - an online support network for new fathers.
