Nicole Richie wins Golden Pacifier Award

Nicole Richie has done a "complete turnaround" since becoming a mother, it has been claimed.

Maclaren – What a mother wants, what a baby needs

Babytalk's editor-in-chief Lisa Moran told OK! magazine that Richie is to receive a Golden Pacifier Award in recognition of her parenting skills.

"She's grown up a lot since the arrival of little Harlow, and her creation of the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation has demonstrated her efforts to set a good example by shining a spotlight on important issues affecting today's families," she said.

The Richie-Madden Children's Foundation was set up last year by Richie and her fiancee Joel Madden, the singer in Good Charlotte, and is aimed at providing grants to healthcare, education and human rights non-profit organisations in the US and abroad.

Babytalk has also recognised chatshow host Ricky Lake for her documentary The Business of Being Born.
