2008/03/19 - Halle Berry chooses Arabic-inspired baby name

Actress Halle Berry has named her baby daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry. The 41-year-old first-time mother gave birth to the latest celebrity baby on Sunday morning in Los Angeles.

Aubry, of course, is the surname of the baby's father and Berry's boyfriend Gabriel.

Commenting on the name picking process, Berry stated that the couple didn't finalise a name until they had met their baby daughter.

"We didn't have a name picked out until just before we left the hospital. For us it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her," she told Access Hollywood.

Max has proved a popular celebrity baby name recently, with both Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez plumping for the boys name after their respective births.

Meanwhile, speculation is rising over what Angelina Jolie may decide to call her baby twins when they arrive later this year.
