Hollywood actress and celebrity mum Jessica Alba has revealed plans to raise her daughter bilingual.
The 28-year-old star has vowed to teach 19-month-old Honor Marie Spanish in order to reserve her heritage.
In a recent interview with Siempre Mujer magazine, she explained that despite being a third-generation American she hopes to improve her knowledge of the Latina culture and language for her family.
"God knows that I wish I was raised bilingual. But it wasn't to be," she said. "I just hired a professor that specialises in Hispanic studies to teach me and Honor."
She added that teaching her toddler to respect her elders is an important part of her parenting agenda.
Honor is Jessica's only child with husband Cash Warren. The couple tied the knot in May 2008 after four years of dating. Just weeks later, their baby girl arrived leaving no time for a honeymoon period.
