The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations aim to reduce the amount of old electrical equipment which goes into our bins at home and increase the amount which is recycled or dismantled safely.
We should all try to remember not to put appliences we're finished with into our normal waste - which goes into landfill sites - as WEEE can contain substances that are potentially hazardous to both the environment and human health.
As a retailer of electrical goods, Kiddicare is a member of a national scheme where we contribute to developing facilities where you can dispose of your old equipment responsibly, and we encourage you to do so.
All new electrical equipment now has on it (or it's packaging) the crossed out wheeled bin symbol, to remind you that the responsible way to dispose of the item in not your normal waste, but to deposit it for recycling.
The place closest to your home, or Kiddicare store, where you can conveniently take you WEEE will most often be one of your Council’s Public Waste Disposal Sites. You can find your nearest participating site by contacting your Local Council or visiting: www.recycle-more.co.uk.
Please note as a member of the Distributor Scheme we are unable to accept the return of waste electrical goods to store.
