Once my husband put this stairgate together it looked great! HOWEVER !!! after 2 hours, and my husband is pretty handy when it comes to things like this, he was losing his temper. The instructions are a waste of time so he ended up working it out on his own. Got another one to go at the top of the stairs but that will have to wait for another spare 2 hours!!

I ordered two, the end product is of good quality and does the job well. However the instruction booklet is utter rubbish, with many languages in it, It has english at the front and the diagrams at the back. I ended up cutting the booklet up so that I could read the instructions and follow the diagrams. I consider myself good at DIY, forget it if you not. Overall took me 2 hours to build the first gate and around 30 mins for the second. Overall good product ruined by poor instructions and diagrams, come on sort it out, there is enough comments on this now.

Comments about Baby Dan BabyDan Flexi Fit Safety Gate Wood 72.1cm - 110cm Wall Mounted Gate:

The instructions aren't Ikea simple, but make perfect sense if you read them properly. I bought 2 gates and put the second up without looking at the instructions as it's pretty obvious when you get going.

The plastic fitments are quite brittle but will have too see if it stands the test of time. I'm sure it'll be fine. Also, it isn't a one handed close - as the gate is flexible it is quite possible to close the top lock and the bottom of the gate hasn't attached to it's 'dock'. Always check as a baby could pull on it and trap their fingers.

By the way, the gate is only for up to 24months - not sure if you can get any that are for an older age, but the locking mechanism looks better than some other 24month gates I have seen.

Safe and secure gate: operates much better on our stairs than pressure-mounted ones, and there is minimal drilling required.

Initial setup is a bit fiddly -- scope for a Kiddicare video here! - but overall it's an excellent product

Works perfectly, adjusts to fit any gap, looks smart to in natural wood finish.

Assembly instructions make it look more complicated than it is to assemble, it is actually quite simple.

If fitting direct to masonary you need to use longer screws than the ones provided and rawplugs, if fitting direct to a wooden door frame then they're fine.

This stair gate looks good and it easy to use once put up. The other thing I really like is that it covers a broad choice of widths - perfect for if you move house or need to have the stair gate in a different position as your needs change. Putting it up did take a while but I much prefer it to the pressure-type fitted gates.

Comments about Baby Dan BabyDan Flexi Fit Safety Gate Wood 72.1cm - 110cm Wall Mounted Gate:

This is a great gate and fits a relatively wide range of spaces. We found it a bit of a faff to install at the top of our stairs as we have skirting boards on each side, and had to fit batons so that the hinges were placed at the same distance from the wall. Once we got that bit sorted out it was fine.

This was easy to fit once I ignored the written instructions and used the pictures. The hole templates were great and it was up and running in no time. Love the easy way it extends to fit different sized gaps, has allowed me to tailor mine to two completely different openings.
Have bought two of these and would strongly recommend them to all.

This stairgate is at the bottom of our stairs to stop our toddler climbing the stairs without us present. It was a little tricky for my hubby to fit, but is great now it's up. There's nothing to trip over on the stairs and it opens out to almost flush with the wall, so when the kids are in bed, it's out of the way. Extends to fit loads of different widths. The mechanism seems one that would be hard for a toddler to open. Pleased with the purchase and will be getting another one for the top of the stairs!

Product is quite time consuming to put together and doesn't feel super sturdy once up. My little boy mangaged to push the gate out of its lower hinge the first day we had it, trying to get in as i was coming out. Although since then it has kept him out quite nicely. Its not the most attractive of babygates, but then are any?? It is however good as there is no bar to trip over at the bottom and it is resonably priced. Overall i would say it was destinctly average.

The stair gate is exactly waht we wanted as it has no bar to trip over at the bottom and we have put it on some very steep stairs down to the cellar. It is very secure to keep our curious toddler at bay when she is following the cat.
The only problem was fitting it - my diy whizz husband took the whole of Sunday afternoon to fit in in the available space !!!! The problem was with the extendable function and actually fitting it into the space we have.

Despite these comments i think this is a very reliable and sturdy babygate and it stands up to a lot of use and misuse buy our toddler. Worth being patient while putting it together to get a babygate you can trust. It also looks quite nice.

My partner opened the box, took one look at all the pieces to build the gate up & told me to send it back! Being an independent (& somewhat stubborn female)I took the job in hand! Once all children of "crawl on the floor & put any small item into mouth" age were safely put to bed, I laid out all the pieces on the floor & got to work...& had it built up in half an hour much to my satisfaction. My partner had it hung the following day within 15 minutes...& it's great. Easy to use & with the beech wood, looks more aesthetically pleasing than a white gate would have done. Only advice would be, if you can't tolerate flat packs & building things up this may not be the gate for you

Have bought 3 and now they are in place I am really happy with them, they are sturdy and look good for stairgates! The fact they have no trip bar is excellent. We put the first gate up between kitchen and hall and it was done in 10mins. However when it came to fitting the 2 on the stairs it was a nightmare, the skirting boards are quite wide and uneven in places - a lot of DIY skills and time required! All I can say is they need patience but worth it in the end.

The stair gate is ideal as it is self extending and fits most openings, the dimensions it fits between 72.1 and 110 are generous and the fact it opens either way a bonus, the gate is safe to walk through as no trip bar. A good all round gate for keeping your toddler safe.

Comments about Baby Dan BabyDan Flexi Fit Safety Gate Wood 72.1cm - 110cm Wall Mounted Gate:

We purchased this along with the Badydan premier pressure indicator gate as we liked the look of the wood design. However we were dissappointed with the way it fitted together and the quality compared with the other gate we bought; especially as it was slightly more expensive. It is good that it doesn't have a bottom bar as it is wall mounted but it is therefore more fiddly to fit to start with.
