Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

My husband assembled it, he found the instructions a little limited with small diagrams only but put it together quite quickly and I've not had much chance to sit in it since as he finds it so comfy!

If you are tall it may not be as comfy as you would need extra head/neck support, I'd recommend sitting in these chairs in store to try out the different brands before deciding on purchase as they are all slightly different and vary considerably in price. Perhaps having the seat inner dimentions as well as the overall size online would help.

This chair is perfect for us, comfortable and fits well in our room, it smoothly glides in all 3 seat positions and just wish we had room for two as I think we'll be fighting over who sits in it!

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

Found this chair really uncomfortable when feeding my baby, so havent really used it. I felt it needed to be lower to the ground (to put my feet flat on the floor) as I wanted to sit forward more to latch on (the stool didnt help with this). I also thought the arms needed to be lower so that my shoulders werent by my ears. All in all, not ergonomically designed for the purpose of breastfeeding comfortably.

My Wife and I purchased a Hauck Glider Chair years ago when our first child was born since then it has never left the front room and is still one of the most fought over chairs for TV watching.

There has never been an incident of trapped fingers in our house, and we have had much success in cleaning the upholstery in the washing machine

The chair we have just bought was for my Mum who had just lost her husband of 30 years - she has suffered from back pain for many years and this chair has helped her find some comfort in a difficult time.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

This is something I didn't buy first time around, but thought I'd treat myself for the birth of our second child. I'd anticipated that this would be for feeding baby, but feel I may have a fight on my hands to actually get near it!!! My 2-year old daughter loves it. My husband seems to be a fan of watching the football in it, using the arm pockets for his beer, which I am not sure it's designed for!! It's a popular member of the family already. A nice cuddling chair as well, for parent and child to share.

I was apprehensive about the width of the seat, as I have expanded a bit during this pregnancy...but it's very comfy & more than enough space for me.

It's probably easily marked, being a suede-type material in beige but I have put a blanket over it.

I'm still pregnant so I can't comment on how great it will be when I've had the baby but so far so good!

It's comfy (although the material isn't that soft) so I'm definitely covering it with a blanket for added comfort.

The arm covers are tight so I'm finding that when I lift the sides to recline, the armcovers are popping off however, this may be because it's still brand new and needs to stretch a little!

Overall, great value for money, really comfy and roomy and I'd definitely recommend to a friend! Can't wait to get in it with the baby!! Think it will be very relaxing and comfy for breatfeeding at night allowing me to get some kip!!

I have just over 3 weeks til my due date but I am finding myself using the chair and stool at various points in the day when I am feeling uncomfortable and don't want to be slouched on the sofa or lie on the bed. It has a nice smooth gliding action and looks great but it does take up a fair amount of room which should be kept in mind when choosing a nursing chair. My husband is keen to use it too and I feel it will be well utilised.

My experiences with the chair are really mixed. I found it really comfortable when I was pregnant, great for those sleepless nights towards the end. When my first baby was young it was nice to cuddle up in. However I did not find it useful when I was breast feeding as my baby's head was level with the arms so it was difficult to find a comfortable position. I had my 2 children 13 months apart and I did worry about the 'older' one trapping her fingers, particularly on the footstool.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

I sat in one of these at a friend's house last week and ordered it the minute I got home! To be realistic and honest you can feel the difference between this and the [£] glider chairs you may have tried in Mamas & Papas -but this is still a comfy, roomy chair and very easy to feed on. The arm rests are perfect for feeding baby either in your arms or with them lying on a cushion. For this price it's great and definitely an improvement on a static straight backed chair. It's especially nice for night feeds when you're totally knackered and deserve a bit of comfort. The rocking is smooth and it has a locking recline that goes from upright to laid back. The little stool rocks too which brings an added benefit of being able to rock baby to sleep or play a gentle game. The only real downside for me is the fabric. It's not as nice as the smoother corduroy you get on the more expensive chairs BUT it is easy to clean baby sick off! If you're going to buy this chair, cover the back with a blanket straight away as, due to the design, Baby will be sick down it when you burp him/her over your shoulder!Overall this is great for those of us who haven't got a spare [£] but still want a comfy glider chair.

There's nothing more important than being comfortable while feeding. I really wish I had bought one of these when I had my first child. As for size it is perfect my third child was 11lb 4oz at birth and now at 5 months 20lb 4 and we are both extremely comfortable in it. My 7 and 3 yr old sit in it together to read stories and my husband is already trying to claim it as his "thinking" chair for when I stop feeding! He has no hope!!! I'm going to live in it!!!!!!

Overall the quality of this chair is much better than the BabyWeaver chair; it makes nursing my baby much more relaxing and easier to manage.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

Read loads of reviews prior to placing the order and although 90% were positive I was still mindful of a couple of comments about overall size and noise. I need not have worried, I'm 6'1" tall and 17 stone and if I can fit comfortably into it and fall asleep watching the rugby then I'm sure most people won't have a problem. As far as it apparently being 'noisy' well it isn't (i can't really elaborate on that. . . . .it just isn't) - oh yes and my wife loves it too.

I can't comment on nursing twins with it yet but thats what i intend to do and I'm sure it will be fine. I wish I had bought this for my first pregnancy, I think it's a great investment.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

We searched all over the web for reviews of chairs before buying this one. I wish we had taken some comments more seriously and spent more money to get a dutalier. The Hauck chair looks good, is sturdy and glides fine, but it is too narrow and the back is low. My four month old baby is already too big for the chair. I can not hold him across my body to feed him. When I do attempt to feed him in the chair, I have to use a pillow to protect him from hitting his head on the armrests. Also, the first few months, you will be spending a lot of time in the chair and you want to be as comfortable as possible. Falling asleep in the chair is painful as the back is too short and thus there is no neck support. My husband and I have had to use a pillow to support our lower backs too. We are not enormous people, so unless you are very short and very narrow, I'd get something else. It was nice to sit in whilst waiting for the baby to arrive, but other than that, it's been a disapointment.

My husband put this together quickly and then promptly fell asleep in it! It's very comfortable to sit in and sleep in, but I haven't found it that great for breastfeeding, as Elsie likes to kick and feels a bit confined. I've found it's better for bottle feeding and story reading though.
The one problem is that it developed a loud and annoying squeak only a few weeks after we got it, so we're going to have to oil it. Otherwise, it is much enjoyed by baby and parents alike!

This is a very comfy chair and excellent value for money. The covers are not made of the softest of fabrics but are hand-washable and seem to be hard wearing.

My one year old has been spending more and more time on my lap at bedtime reading books and my old standard chair just wasn't comfortable. Now we can both enjoy books at bedtime in absolute comfort and the rocking motion is wonderful for calming down ready for sleep (for both of us!!). I didn't get one of these when my littl'un was born as I didn't think I'd need one for long enough to make it worth it - now I wish I'd bought it on day one! Still, I'm sure we'll get plenty of use out of this in the years to come, and it already feels well worth the money.

looked at getting a fancier one of these for my first baby but was put off by the cost. A friend suggested this one and I thought I'd give it a try. I'd agree with a previous reviewers comment that the colour is a tad 'fleshy' and material is clearly cheaper than the fancier versions, but frankly you can chuck a throw over it and it will wash better anyway. Really comfortable, my toddler loves having stories on it, and am waiting for baby #2 to arrive so I can feed in a slightly more comfortable position than I did slumped in bed first time round. Very easy to put together which was a relief after battling with various other baby purchases recently.

I bought this after five weeks of breastfeeding on our sofa. It is definitely a far more comfortable option. The rocking motion is relaxing and it is easy to hold your baby without having to carry his/her whole weight in your arms. The downsides are that the fabric is quite rough to touch and not a great colour. (I thought from the photo that it would be cream but it is more towards a peach colour). I would describe the seat cushion as firm rather than luxurious.

The covers have the appearance of cushion insides and are very thin and flimsy. My pert derier needs more padding! They are also a dark peachy beige which was not what i was expecting.
I havn't decided whether to keep it and get it re- upholstered or send it back as either way its gonna cost me more money. It is currently still in the box so I cannot comment on other aspects of performance. Much cheaper than its rivals but maybe you get what you pay for?

Am 5 months pregnant so bought in preparation for our first baby. I managed to build it myself with ease and is very very comfortable. Great for napping in the middle of the day and compared to other stores was a very good price. Would recommend this chair even if you dont have a baby!

I have no doubt that when baby arrives it will give excellent posture for feeding.

This chair is just as good if not better than a lot of the more expensive chairs I have tried out. Doesn't take up half as much space as you would think either! Good all round. Reclining the chair and rocking in it is mesmorising! Can see myself having many happy hours of nursing and relaxing in it!

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

My wife loves this chair. We tried out some of the more expensive brands which were great too but way more expensive for very little extra. This one is /nearly/ as good although a little more stuffing in the back cushion wouldn't go amiss.
The reclining mechanism is basic but works well though you couldn't adjust it while holding a baby since you have to lift both armrests (like a reclining garden chair).
My wife is 7 months pregnant and find it more comfortable than the sofa as it seems to support her bump better. I have to confess I'm occassionaly caught in it too. :)
The most pleasing thing about it is that it's well built - they haven't skimped on the quality of wood so it should last a good long time.
The only downside apart from perhaps wanting a little more back cushioning (though it depends on your preferences) is that there is no lock to prevent the rocking action.
I'm not sure how big a problem that will be in the future but if it needs one I'd probably just make one myself anyway - it wouldn't be rocket science.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

I love this chair! I've spent up to 5 hours a night sitting in it, and I'm so pleased I invested in a decent one. Sitting up breast feeding at night can be lonely and extremely frustrating, so its definately not something to compromise on.
My only critizism is that once my daughter has grown a bit her feet reach the arms whilst I'm feeding, enabling her to kick it. This is not good whist she has hold of my nipple! It would be better if the arms were shorter so that her legs could dangle off the side in front of the arm.
All in all though I would definately recommend it, and I don't see what the more expensive ones have that this one doesn't.

My sister came to see and said haven't you bought a nursing chair yet, i love mine i still use it now. So, that afternoon when our daughter was two weeks old, we ordered one online and have never looked back!

We bought the Hauck glider chair and footstool. it was very reasonably priced, easy to assemble (allan keys only, no scredrivers - and alan keys provided). it reclines but it's comfortable that i don't often use the recline option - i don't feel the need. I feed my daughter at midnight and it is nice to be comfortable and relaxed while doing so! i just sit in the chair. she leans her head on the padded arm and then i put my feet up! We also use it at bedtime, rocking in it and listening to her lullaby. For both of us we know this is part of our bedtime routine.

There are handy side pockets too - we keep a muslin, a book, infacol, and the mobile remote control in so all our bedtime needs are right by my side.

It's probably the one thing that if i had to save up for in terms of baby equipment, i would. Even my dad wants one at home just to use a rocking chair as it's so comfortable!

Initially I didn't think I would get a great deal of benefit from a specific nursing chair. But although my baby has not yet arrived, I am overdue, I already use it daily. Last week I had a very sore back so my husband brought this chair into the living room for me and I find it the most comfortable place to sit and it is good for my posture. I love the pockets at the side of the chair which my husband calls my 'holsters' they are perfect for TV remote's, phones and lipbalms! I am now convinced that this was an invaluable purchase. I look forward to having it back in the nursery when my baby arrives to be put to it's intended use.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

This is a comfortable chair and is far better value than many at two, three and even four times the price. The cushions could be thicker but are acceptable. It is easy to recline...so long as you have both hands available! It is not quite so easy to sit back up again, but this is not a problem. The rocking motion is very smooth and easy.

All in all, even allowing for the couple of quibbles, this is a very acceptable chair and stool and we are very happy with it.

I bought the chair to soothe my pregnant wife. The only complaint I have about this chair is the upholstery. It's not even close to luxurious as stated in the product description. An option to upgrade it would be nice. However, for the paying price, I guess that's what the consumers should be expecting to get(?). All in all, a good purhase for the value; if you think Dutailier is too expensive.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

This is an all round good chair and stool and whilst I'm sure there are better chairs out there, for the price this one' great.

Whilst the chair is generally comfortable the base cushion could be a bit softer. I've also found that the arms are quite high (or base too low) and my little one has a tendancy to propel himself off the armrests with his feet ... although this may happen in all chairs!

Also found the colour to be slightly different than in the pictures shown.

Comments about Hauck Hauck Glider Recline Nursing Chair and Stool:

When we first bought the chair we thought it would be used primarily while we were feeding our son. But during the first couple of months he had colic and the chair became very useful in helping him go to sleep. It hasn't stopped there, now that he is teething the rocking comforts him and when you have to hold a baby at 2 in the morning for a couple of hours you need a comfortable chair.
You do not need to buy the most expensive this is just as good as the others.
A hint though, buy a cushion for your head if you are tall, as the wood can get a bit hard on the back of the head.
