Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

We wanted this for our 19mth old, to go walking long distances on land unsuitable for pushchairs. We tried it out yesterday and were extremely pleased. As one of the cheapest on the market we wondered how good it would be, but it is perfect and excellent quality. We went about 2 miles, which was about enough for baby first time, he enjoyed it, but I think its best to ease them in gently so they get used to it too.

Its a nice enough carrier if you can get it to fit ontop of pelvis like recommened, Ive got a really short body but long legs and although the shoulders adjust its uncomfortable for me and feel like someones snapped my neck! Yes its bargin but you get what you pay for. Also its hard to take on off on your own. also with older children if they sway allot it can put huge pressure on shoulders.

Only used it once, but when I did my little girl had the biggest grin on her face, she loves it. Bought mainly for taking the dog out so bigger than expected for just a flat stroll with the dog, but my baby seems comfy an after fiddling about with the straps to get it right, it's comfortable to use. Good purchase hope to have many more trips in it, and maybe a bit of hiking to get the most out of it.

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

This is the second child carrier/backpack that we bought as both of our children need one. Our other carrier, from a higher end brand was very good but also very expensive. However, this carrier is really good value and seems to do the same job, and it is a huge plus that it comes with the sunshade and rain cover! You will need these. The only design fault is that the "stand" doesn't work very well and it is in the pocket, so pretty useless. But all in all, can't be beaten for the price!

the baby carrier is comfortable for both my husband and I to use - i have even mowed the lawn wearing it with baby in!!! the only slight downside was on the rainhood where the piping was not quite concealed and needed a slight repair -however we are very pleased with the carrier - especially for the price!

Me and my partner are very impressed with this product. The only thing I would say is my son is only 10 months so he tends to fall asleep when he is in a car, pram etc. When he does this in the rucksack, there is nothing to support his neck but other than that I am pleased with this rucksack.

As a single mum (of four) i needed something lightweight and durable for our hiking holiday in north wales. This was the first time i had taken my kids on this type of holiday, i usually go with my friend. This back carrier was perfect to put my 20 month in, he loved it. at 5'8 i found it very comfortable and easy to put on/take off. I cant wait for our next expedition to the cotswolds. It will be the first thing i pack.

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

We have only used the backpack carrier once so far for our 9 month old boy but it appears to do what we want. Our son looks comfortable and even fell asleep in it! The storage area at the base of the backpack is very generous and the bottle holders at either side are very useful. My husband found the carrier comfortable but felt our 2 hour walk was the limit on how long he could wear it as found it heavy with our son in (and our son is only average weight for his size). I did not use the carrier for long but tried it out for 10 minutes and did find the bottom of the metal frame dug into my lower back, however, my husband did not have this problem (possibly as he has a longer back as he is 6ft whereas I am only 5ft 3").All in all a good purchase.

We bought this to walk the dog, on the day it arrived we popped our 18 month old daughter in it and I put it on my back, I wanted to wear it rather than my husband as I am the one who will do most of the dog walking. We went out for an hour with the dog, our daughter loved it and didn't stop laughing, squealing, giggling, and generally having a good time! I was comfortable wearing it and am happy that this backpack will allow me to walk the dog alone while the days are short, I don't know if I would want to wear it for much longer than an hour but for the purpose we bought it for it is perfect.

Bought this product to make dog walking easier than a front sling (my dog will not walk nicely next to a pram)
My son instantly fell asleep as soon as we started moving.
Found it easy to put on and off on my own.
Was hoping that the rain cover would be more than just a canopy but i havent tested it in the rain yet. So i will wait and see on its effectiveness.

Fantastic, better than expected & excellent quality,
Spent 3 days researching and opted for this on design and not price. The low cost was an added bonus. All Dads should have this product as it allows you to have extra quality bonding time with junior. I find it easier than the buggy and you can go to places you otherwise couldnt with a buggy. Oh yes, it also helps you lose weight as well . Cant find a fault either. TOP NOTCH.

The carrier is brilliant. I use it on a daily basis so we can walk the dog. It is lightweight and easy to put on by yourself. It is also easy to keep adjusting as we swap it between me and my husband. The only downside for me is as I am only 5ft 2, the straps don't quite make it small enough for me to sit the carrier in the small of my back. It comes about two inches lower so although it is comfortable, it could be better. That said, I would still buy it again. Great sun/rain flaps.

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

Just tried this out today and loved it. We took turns in carrying our 11 month old (22lbs) in it. Hubby said it was a bit of a strain on his back, poor old thing, but I found it comfortable and quite easy to carry...and I did the steep hill part of the walk. I think our son quite liked it too as he smiled regally at us and passers by, then fell asleep! Must find a way to pop a cushion in for him to rest his head on!
My only "cons" are that I think the raincover should cover all...this is the UK after all! And there should be a storage pouch to pop it into when not in use.

Baby's arms aren't restricted and he has a clear view of all that is going on around. Easy to adjust and great for holidays where the pram isn't practical. Not something we'd use everyday and so the price is ideal. We were worried that because of its price it may not be good quality but it's brilliant, well padded, comfy. No cushion at the front of the frame but that doesn't seem to be a problem so far. I also bought some styrups as they weren't on this product but were on similar ones but they're not needed, baby is comfy and can rest his feet on the straps of the rucsac.

Fantastic product! Easy to use, we live in the country and go for a 4 mile walk everyday with this... The only cons are that You can't see when they drop something i.e. kicks of his very expensive shoes (my wife was not happy!) Also when my 1 year old drops off he sometimes hits his head on the front. Easily solved with a mini cushion but would have been a nice addition to a great product.

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

Great price, ok product. I have been carrying my baby in a front sling since birth, and thought it was time to graduate to a framed backpack carrier for day-to-day use. I am disappointed that carrying baby in this backpack carrier is such hard work! I think it must be to do with the fact that the baby is suspended a short way from your back rather than against it, increasing the relative weight of the baby. I am still working with this product as i love the idea of carrying baby as long as possible. Set up of the product has been more trial and error than anything as instruction leaflet incredibly brief. I am 5'6 and have the setting as short as possible to lift the weight up high but now the bottom of the frame digs into the top of my bum and there is virtually no padding there - ouch. The zip pullers on the storage pocket are very flimsy and i am expecting to pull them off in use any time soon. On the plus side, my baby loves being in it!

We used this when on a short break with lots of off road/beach walks - N is just finding his feet so not keen on being in his buggy but not able to walk on his own yet! He loved being up high and seeing what's going on. The storage pocket was ideal for storing our picnics, as well as a spare nappy or 2! It's easy to put on, even with no-one to help. My only problem is carrying N's weight now - will be so fit by the time he walks everywhere!

Brilliant for the price - you will be hard pushed to find anything else that is as good value for money. We have used it with our 6 month old and our 2 year old nephew - to be honest, our nephew was heavy enough....the product says that it is suitable for use up to 4 years, on our experience with our nephew I can't see this. Our 6 month old is happy in it, but we did have problems with him slipping to one side and the rucksack therefore slipping to one side but maybe this will improve with practice, otherwise very confortable to wear with the padded straps. Agree with the comments about the stand, you do need a second person to put it away which in effect deems it defunct.
Thanks kiddicare for a good value product.

My 10 month old son loved trying it out and was amused he could pull his Daddy's hair too! We can't wait to use it for real now. Ideal for out and about or on holidays when you would go out walking and would find a pram or buggy difficult to handle due to surface for example. Neat storage and looks quite stylish too!

Used the carrier when on holiday - did a couple of 4 or 5 mile walks with our 13 month old, who loved it! He was very comfortable. He even fell asleep at one point!

I was seriously considering a much more expensive product as this appeared too good to be true...but it actually is eveything it promises and I am glad I didn't spend any more.

We got this for a caravanning holiday so we can go walking on the beach and its great. My husband tends to do the carrying although I have tried it once. It needs readjusting if someone different is carrying, but thats to be expected! We both found it comfortable, my husband even managed a 15 mile hike with our lttile one on his back. Totally recommended.

Never got on with front carriers, this allows our daughter to be comfortable with all the padding and cool, whereas she was always getting too hot and squished in our old carrier! Easy to set up, the storage section is great for the extras we need whilst out and about. Fab product, taking it on holiday with us!

I liked the fact that this carrier came with sun/wind cover which so many don't. The price was also a big factor as it was a bargain. My 19month old son really enjoys being in it as the seat seems quite comfortable and there is plenty of space for him to look around whilst being securely fastened in.

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

Useful carrier which we used in Edinburgh during the August festivals. Excellent as it kept our son up high so he could see everything and we could walk up the hills and steps with ease.

The stand which is detailed is pretty useless as it is in the pocket which when you've filled you can't then use the stand AND the stand needs 3 hands to use! You need to push in 2 buttons on either side then yank the stand down, with my short arms there was no way of using this and getting the bag on my back and then shutting the stand and pocket up. If there are 2 of you, you don't need the stand as one of you can hold it. But this didn't effect the use for us, just wanted to let you know if this was a big reason for the purchase!

This is a reasonable carrier at an excellent price. You basically get what you pay for. Takes a bit of adjusting to get it comfortable for the adult and it's a shame that the raincover doesn't cover the entire child. Fine for short walks.
Our 19 month old loved it though, he thought he was the bees-knees!!

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

This product was a fantastic buy at the discounted rate of [$]. If I to say something negative it would have to be the overall size is large however they all are of this type. You do not need to take your baby bag when using this product as storage is ample. I wouldn't use these type of products for every day use and it could be a little difficult if you are using on your own. [...] If you are looking at this product buy it you will not regret it!!!

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

I bought this product to take my 10 month old walking with me to places impractical for pushchair use.

It arrived already set up to use. The only thing required was to alter straps to suit my height and my baby's requirements.

I am a 5ft 4inch women weighing 9st 7lbs. I am able to easily carry my son (24lbs) in the carrier for long distances and have full confidence this will continue for sometime as he grows.

If you are using the product ensure that the waist strap is done up tightly around the waist so the majority of the weight is taken there. Very little weight should be placed on the shoulders.

I was also suprised at the amount of room in the storage section of the carrier - I am able to carry all I require for my son in this section.

For the price I feel this product is excellent value. This product would not be suitable for a child under 6 months or a child who in unable to hold head and body upright.

Comments about Baby Weavers Expedition Back Pack - Tarmac:

Had borrowed a Vaude backpack carrier and our daughter (10 months) loved it. Thought we'd buy our own but wanted one with a rain/wind cover as we like to go walking. Great price, can't beat it, but one of the plastic adjusters on an important strap snapped as soon as we tried to adjust it. Disappointing. However, managed to mend it by tying a knot and headed out on a 3 hoour walk - our daughter loved being in it and didn't complain once. Due to the quality of the product, I'm not sure how long it wil last, so perhaps we will wish we had spent the extra pennies on a Vaude carrier in the long run.

[...] Our newborn is too small now but purchased so that when he's ready we can use immediately and return to our walking again. Looks like it'll be suitable for all weathers. Very adjustable to suit different height wearers and also as the baby grows into a toddler and beyond. I think the only drawback will be our fitness in carrying him not the kit!

Great idea for when your on holiday's or out and about when a pushchair isn't always handy, the carrier is lightweight and easy to use and really easy to adjust to fit either parent and grow with your child.
The carrier has a stability leg to stabilise whilst seating or removing your child, the carrier includes rucksack style storage space and 2 pockets to keep their favourite toy or bottle to hand.
