very sturdy gate, which is great as it is at the top of my stairs which are very steep and my daughter thinks its great to throw things down the stairs while hanging onto it. Pressure fitted is also great as it leaves to nasty holes in the wall and it was easy to assemble which is also great for a non diy family. Will definately buy another

It took me virtually 15 mins to put it together, it is simple to use and difficult to open by my 17-months-old girl. It is true - you have to have large hands to open it one-handed otherwise you will probably need to use both hands, but hey, for the safety of my little treasure I will carry weights in my teeth.

I have a six month old boy who has just realised that he can get about (this usually means somewhere he shouldn't). We have installed the gate at the top of the stairs and it is great. Really easy to open and it not only stops him getting down the stairs but also our two cats going up the stairs (they don't seem to like jumping over it) Would definately buy again.

i needed to get a new stairgate for the bottm of my stairs for my childminding business. my stairs are quite wide so i was finding it hard to get a gate that would fit that i didnt have to pay extra for extentions. this gate was great as the extenetion were included in the price. this gate was really easy to put up - took about 10 mins and didnt need any drilling so it was perfect for me. once up it is very sturdy and looks great. all in all a great gate.

We have bought two of these gates for our house and two for the grandparents. We are all really pleased with them. They are fairly easy ti install and you know you have got it right because of the clever indicator that tells you. You can open them one handed too which is very important when the other hand is taken up with a wiggly toddler.

The instructions that come with this gate are too basic. We worked it out ourselves eventually. This gate is not designed to be packed away and used occassionally - it is definitely a put up once and leave well alone.
The opening mechanism is quite tricky one handed (but do-able), and my 15 month old son doesn't have the strength to undo it himself - yippee.
Whether it'll mark the wall only time will tell - but at least we found we didn't need to drill to fix it firmly to the walls. We use it at the top of our landing - it also doubles as a clothes horse!

Its hard to say anything too exciting about this product. We bought two and have them atthe top and bottom of the stairs. Our 15month daughter is already showing interest in the handle but hopefully she's a long way off opening it herself!
We have found that the gate can be opened simply by lifting sometimes. I presume this means it isn;t fitted quite tightly enough but this does make it slightly less safe.
Mechanism is a little fiddly to open one handed.

I am finding these gates extremly useful. With the release button on the side this can be placed away from where the child is being kept so they are unable to see how to open. Also the gate appeared to be family proof for a long time. So if friends and family can't open the gate, it looks very positive for the future. We have 4 of this product which were easy to put up and if using the holders you can screw into the wall, even sturdier! Defineately recommend!!

Needs the cups provided to be certain of the gate not moving if bumped into.Tend to trip over the lower bar.

We used this at the top of our stairs because it can be attached to the wall and its held up great to all sorts of abuse from our son who is now 18months old.

This gate was the only gate we could find to fit our unusually wide stairs, it is an excellent, well fitting gate with an added indicator to make sure it is secure. We actually bought four of these, two for the grandparents aswell.

What i really like about this gate is the mehanism for opening it. You have to push the button in first, to be able to lift the handle up, so it makes it more difficult for even older children to open it!
