Really nice wide gate. In fact this was the only gate I could find for a 2 meter plus gap. Just purchase the extra sections you need to fit. Nicely constructed and secure, easy to assemble and a doddle to fix to a wall (did mine in 15 mins). All in all a great buy and nice to see something that actually works well for a change.

Only small gripe (as others have said) is that the gate lock is a little fiddly and tricky to open and close, but don't let that put you off buying this excellent gate.

Great three-section room divider that we bought to cover a wide opening in our living room. Pity that Kiddicare only enclosed printed user guides in French, German and Dutch (upon request, we got a link to a .pdf manual in English).

Veru sturdy construction, although because there is a certain flex between the sections you should not expect a rigid "fence" once in place -- the room divider will flex back and forth a couple of inches.

The gate has a simple open/close mechanism that is OK to manouvre using one hand but does take some attention to make sure it is closed.

We bought this stair gate because no others would fit around the base of our large curved staircase. It has worked wonders and has made the stairs perfectly safe for our 12 month old. It doesnt look offensive atall and is sturdy enough to withstand him pulling on it. The only minor downside is that the door can sometimes be a bit stiff to open but nothing major. Definately value for money.

Sections not as interchangeable as I would of liked but had the gate up in about 15 min now my kitchen is toddler free. Gate is a bit stiff to open and close due to the locking mechanism but does the job.

Why didn't we buy one earlier? If you have a archway/french doors that you need a barrier for, this is an excellent piece of equipment.

We kept putting buying something like this off as they seemed expensive, and our little one wasn't that mischievious until.....

Now our oven, washing machine and fridge freezer are safe from those tiny innocent hands. You would think I would have more concern for the baby, wouldn't you? But he went back to them time and time again - they were great fun, obviously! This is what yoghurt looks like out of a pot - splat! And another!

We use the gate to divide a lounge dining room and it enables us to keep our 9 month old, crawling son out of the kitchen. As it will be a permanant feature for quite some time we are pleased with the look and ease of use for adults.Unfortunateley it is just a little too high for my eldest cat!!

We needed to put a barrier up between the sitting room and kitchen.
This is an excellent choice - easy to put up. Really sturdy - even with a child hanging off it desperate to see what is happening!!
Would definitely recommend.

We have a through lounge and decided that we needed to divide it up so that the safe play area was easier to handle. So far this has been fab and my lo is kept away from computers, cds, books etc. Was not easy to assemble but means little one will not be able to take it apart either!

We have a really difficult temporary opening towards stairs and hallways (in a middle of a major renovation of our home) and the only gate on the market that could handle that was the Babydan gate. It was a forced choice that turned out to be really good in cutting off a very spread-out dangerous area from our adventure-seeking 11-month old who has adopted it as a play and training toy in getting up and down and walking along. You can usually find him there bopping up and down holding on to the rails-being happy as anything!
