These gates are easy to install (5 minutes or less) and are reassuringly sturdy. I've no worries at all that they'll do what they're supposed to. They're a tiny bit heavy but who cares. They still stow away easily enough and, although I don't need them to be, they're relatively portable in that they're easy to remove and install and lie flat for transport. I highly recommend them.

Well if i could put this up anyone can. My stairs are an odd width and the Bannister is too so i was dreading finding a stairgate to fit. Tried too get the Lindam pressure fit ones at Argos only to be told that they have been withdrawn for safety reasons. Got straight on the net for another company doing pressure fit ones and found the brilliant Kiddicare. I still had to use the wall cups but that only required me screwing in two screws. Simple sturdy and not too bulky.

I bought 2 of these gates just under a week ago and i'm very pleased with them. I've put one at the top and one at the bottom of the stairs. I did find them a bit tricky to fit but i blame that on uneven walls in an old house rather than the design on the gate.
The doors were a bit stiff to open at first but were easier after a couple of days of use and i've now got the hang of opening them with one hand. They are very strong and sturdy (no chance of my little monkey opening the gate or pulling it away from the walls).
Overall i'm very pleased with them and would highly recommend them to all other parents hunting around for their first stair gate.
(mine also came with the extension, although it was stated that you had to buy seperately)
One final thought - the handle and hinge are in fact silver/grey where as i though they looked white on the pic.

We have tried a few different safety gates and couldn't find one that would fit securely on our Victorian staircase. The staircase seemed to be an awkward width and the carved wooden balustrade doesn't have a flat surface at the right height for securing any gate. But this product not only included an extension but also a handy set of little circular flat cups that can be drilled into the balustrade to provide a secure anchor. Consequently this gate, I think number 4 of 4 that we tried, totally works. And it was very easy to install, it only took a few minutes. The pressure indicator is a nice touch, very reassuring. [...]

Hard to fault this gate though when holding baby and operating it with one hand my wife says this can be tricky. Not noticed this myself! I prefer this type of gate as there is no drilling or faffing about and they can be moved and re-positioned easy enough. For functionality this scores very highly and also for build quality and finish. Highly recommended

It was easy to install and is easy to use. I like the fact that if you don't shut the door properly, it half closes itself and locks so that the little one still can't open it. The pressure indicator gives peace of mind that the gate is fitted correctly. This gate was so good, I bought 3 more! One for us and 2 for the grandparents house.

I also have a 6 month old puppy who is into absolutley everything, especially my daughters toys, so I can lock her in the kitchen witout worrying about her too! The gates were good to setup and the extra extensions were definetly needed to make the gates secure. I have used them on the stairs and it did not take long to set all four gates up. The longest part of the job is to ensure that the pressure on the gates were optimal and this was easy to do since there are indicators that show you if the pressure is correct. This can also ensure that over time you can easily check the gates for the correct pressure. There is a spanner included with the kit and all the parts required for the extensions.

Stair gates are pretty standard, but not if you have just over average doorways because you have to purchase extra extensions - often as a special order or from another provider. Not with this one it come with 2, hence the generous 93cm width.
Excellent pressure indicator which gives you piece of mind that it's properly fitted and makes the product easier to use. Friends have other models without indicator and have actually fitted them wrong through over tightening, making them a real 2 handed job - a pain with a babe in arms!

Good sturdy design. Put through its paces as my sons favourite pastime is to try and pull it down from the stairs. They were also easy to install and good for an old house with uneven surfaces. This was because the gate could be adjusted from four corners. Also the gate still remains stable when open which is different from other models which become very slack when the gate is open
