I knew this was good before I bought it. So much more space than the old square playpen although it does take up more room. The baby likes it too and I know she's safe if I have to leave her for a minute.
OK so it's slightly heavy, but then if it was any lighter, i would question its strength and sturdiness. The weight will only be a disadvantage if you need to constantly move it about/fold it up. That said it can seperate into as many sections as you need in order to make moving it more easy.
Anybody that says this is difficult to install, must be either infirm or just very bad at following very simple instructions, because i can't see how a product this versatile could be any easier to assemble/adjust.
In terms of function, you can arrange it in almost any configuration you could think of, and even in its standard hexagon formation, it provides a nice sized space for the child.
I have spent a long time searching for a good playpen option, and I really don?t think you will find anything better especially at this price.
It is realy useful, specially when my baby starts crawling.I can put him to this playpen and have good shower or whatever I can do a lots a things with out wondering about him.
I was quite against getting a playpen when i first adopted my baby boy, I thought i would feel really guilty, then he started getting into everything and i couldn't take my eye off him for a moment, my husband went back to work and i couldn't get a thing done. So i gave in, and i'm so glad i did, he doesn't mind being in there at all and i can get some housework done now too! It is quite a heavy construction and my husband did have to put it together as it was really stiff but that said it's good that it's so heavy otherwise i think my strong little boy would have it over!! Overall a very good investment.( keeps the cats safe too)
Product matched expectations 100%
We use them for cordonong off our baby area in creche and to make safe cafe area for the parents at our Stay and Play session
I love this playpen, it isn't as heavy as I was expecting and it took me about 10 minutes to put it together (I imagine fixing it to the wall is more difficult). I found it easiest to remove all the corner rails (you have to do this anyway as the mat has loops which slide over the rails to hold it in place) to position the hinges rather than trying to pull them as in the instructions. They are very stiff at first, although I expect this gets easier with use.
The gate is its best feature as it means you don't strain your back lifting the baby out.
Keeps crawling baby away from older child and also my older son goes in there when he wants to play on his own!

I was hoping to take it to my sisters barbecue
but it was well too heavy to lift as im very pettit, and all i wanted was for my two yr old daughter to be happy playing with her toys and stuff, but because of that she was in her buggy for the whole barbecue, but dont worry we still enjoyed it :)

Excellent as a room divider to keep a kamikaze toddler safe! [...]we have not needed them yet as the barrier is too heavy for this toddler to move.We have not tried it in playpen mode, but friends are delighted with their's. It is too heavy to be easily portable, so i would recommend a lighter pen if you want to keep moving it from room to room.

This seems very robust and the gate works well. I want to use it as a room divider too but didn't realise it has to be attached to a wall to do this.

My son has just started to crawl and it was getting impossible to get anything else done, never keen on playpens as thought they looked like cages, however gave in and am really pleased I did. Little boy loved being in playpen, can see me and the dog, but I'm not having to hover over him and the dog isn't getting its fur grabbed! Is heavy once set up, but luckily have space to leave it. Son has bumped head a couple of times on railings, but no different from the bumps he was getting trying to move around the floor, its a tough time for baby and parents at this stage! Gives me peace of mind that little one can't get up to mischief if I need to go to door or loo!

I brought this product because we were getting a puppy and I had seen this advertised. The play pen is strong and very well built. It is big enough for the puppy to move around and be very safe and happy. Id does not feel closed in like other cages.
we use the playpen for keeping our grandchildren safe from the dogs and the dogs safe from the grandchildren. A great solution to keep everyone safe and happy.
This playpen was a must when our 6 month old suddenly started crawling all over the house! It was a little stiff to assemble at the joints but once up is very robust, the only real down side is that it is rather heavy and we had hoped to be able to use it in the garden but this might prove more difficult than expected due to the weight, having a gate is great for bad backs but moving it is'nt! Our son has plenty of room to move about in it and fill it with his toys, his Daddy sometimes joins him in there too!
BOUGHT THIS & SENT IT BACK, FAR TOO HEAVY & VERY BULKY COMPARED TO OTHER PLAYPENS. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.
Great to know that baby is safe and cannot get into trouble. Lovely padded mat - protects and warm
We bought this particular play pen because it was versatile - it can also be used as a stair gate, area gate, or play house (with the tent attachment sold separately). We may even buy another one and attach the two to make a giant play pen.
It was very easy to set up. It is heavy once completed and attaches to the mat base so that when our daughter gets older she cannot lift it to crawl underneath - something I've heard children often learn to do.
The mat is thick enough to provide a good nap-time place. Also, I left a bowl of blueberry puree too close and my daughter spread it all over the mat. I thought it would be a nightmare to clean (that stuff stains!)- but it just wiped off easily even though the mat is cloth. I haven't even had the need to throw it in the wash yet, but if I do, it's just at 40 degrees, hang dry.
It's a good size - sometimes I'll get in it with my daughter to play. She can walk around it while holding the bars, so it helps her learning. The door opening is FANTASTIC because the sides are high (meaning it will last your child's growth spurts) and makes getting your kid out so much easier.
This wasn't as solid as I expected. It is a bit flimsy, and quite difficult to change around. It is OK as a playpen but I wanted something a bit heavier to use as a room divider.
It took me 1 hour to assemble and that was with a few trial and errors. It is now fixed in place and quite sturdy, so I am not orried about it falling on my daughter. If I anted to change the shape and possition, would be very difficult. You will also need a very strong grip to open the door
Perfect for the baby that is now mobile! Leaves you free to do some chores, shower etc without worrying about what they are up to!! And the play tent accessory will make it perfect for when baby is older - even my 7 year old likes it!!
Very sturdy and adaptable especially usefull for premmie twins when you want to hang out washing or just go to the loo
I've never been a great fan of playpens but a soon as my 8month old got mobile... crawling into the kitchen and clinging onto the back of my legs whilst I was trying to cook it re-affirmed that my childs' safety was paramount. This product is initially quite difficult to dismantle but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy. My son only spends about 2 or 3 15mintue sessions in there each day but it's been incredibly handy.
The playpen is made of good quality materials. However, it is a bit fiddly to change the angle between each section. Not too bad as a one-off setup...but I don't think you would want to be putting it up as a playpen and folding it away every evening. I using it in two parts. Three sections including door as as a stair gate and the other three sections secured along a horizontal bannister rail to prevent my little boy getting between the posts and falling down the stairwell on the other side. Not only is it sturdy, but my son is enjoying pulling himself up on the bars.
The Baby Dan Baby Den is excellent and with its versatility can barrier off (within the recomendations of Baby Dan) those things likely to cause harm to infants, in this case, grandaughter, or your prized possessions.Much better than the wooden one I can remember, 60 years ago.[...] Will now aid her ability to walk as immeidiatly she has pulled herself up, holding on to the bars at 10.5 months.Just handy to 'pop' her in while you have to do those essential things in life.
useful for 0-2 years old, however a 9 months old will try and stand up, holding the bars then fall on the other side, would not recomed to leave the baby unsupervised in it.
The locking mechanism between each section can be difficult to disengage. The door section is a particular problem. Caught finger between vertical bar in door section and vertical bar in adjacent section when trying to close for storage.
Easy to erect and sturdy. We have twin girls that are beginning to be mobile and this gives Mum an opportunity to nip of around the house and get things done.
The only real downside is its portability. Its pretty heavy but this is good in its defense. It does fold flat but would not recomend it if you were wanting to take it to grandparents etc.
A must for any parent who needs to get on with those pesky household chores. I seem to remember being a bit confused while putting it together, but maybe thats just me! Matress/base washes well too! (30/40? machine wash and dried on radiator)
secure safe play pen for adventurious child
I use this every day when doing any housework. My 7-month old daughter loves it and keeps herself entertained in it for ages (when she has a good day). When she will start to crawl, we can use it as a fence, to keep her away from the TV, electric wires etc. It`s big, cosy, very stable and easy to clean. Though you cannot adjust the height (the mattress is on the floor), there is a gate so it`s easy to pick up or put down the baby. All in all, I think it`s a good deal.
Used to keep areas safe from little inquisative hands
The standard, hexagonal, shape fits very well into our bay window area which saves space.
There is more than enough room for 5-month-old twins who are starting to roll-about.
The door makes for easy access and also allows you to lie on the floor with your head-and-shoulders inside so you can interact with the infants.
It is quite heavy and so not really suited for visits to grand-parents, although we did over Christmas.
Very useful for safety, gives a large play space, quite easy to move to another room. I use it in the kitchen so that she can see me while I'm busy.
I use this a room divider. It's easy to put up and easy to fold up and put away.
We bought this as a room divider, to keep the dog and baby separate.
The design is very versatile. The six sections can be configured to fit almost anywhere (e.g. as a barrier to the kitchen, stairs, fireplace etc.) but also as a play pen or wendy house.
We use this to seperate the kitchen and diner as little hands love going in the cupboards and washing machine! It's more relaxing to cook without a little person under my feet!
I'm a single mum of twin baby girls, who thus need a bit more space to play in than the average playpen allows for. Initially I used one of these playpens for the two of them: then, bought another and joined the 2 together to make one big rectangle. In addition I use another one as a large spare bed for them (I've made it rectangular and put a mattress in) at my boyfriend's house, and they play and sleep in it happily when hwe stay over there
...but when number two child arrived I needed somewhere safe that baby could play sometimes and this fits the bill perfectly. It is reasonably unobtrusive and plain (which is good) and for short periods (like whilst I have to cook!) he is quite happy playing in it. Keeping the 3 year old out of it has been more of a problem!!
perfect. a godsend wih a newborn and a toddler. keeps baby safe from helpful toddler that wants cuddles.
Great safe place to leave your baby/toddler whilst you get on with other jobs. Nice padded floor and good solid construction.
We have used it as a divider between our conservatory and the through lounge as the conservatory floor is quite cold for babies.
We did try and use it as a playpen but the little one refused to be bound within small area.
It is very useful for us - creating a safe space where our little one can play happily with all her toys. The strong bars also allow her to practise walking and the safety gate ensures she cannot get out. It was a little complicated to set up, but that may be because we are not very good at DIY :-) However, we managed, and I don't know what we would do without it now.
This product has saved my bacon, after taking about 5 minutes to set up it has been in use day in and day out. The comfy mattress is so soft and easily removable in order to wash it, and the playpen structure itself is very sturdy, big enough to give my son lots of playing space and fits nicely into a corner of the room.
My son loves to potter around in his playpen and happily amuses himself for ages, it has also helped him to start pulling himself up on to his feet and he grabs hold of the bars and wiggles from side to side using them to hold his weight, there is nothing bad I can say about this playpen.
This is great for our little boy as we can put him in the play pen to play without his toys getting dirty or our dog sticking his nose in.
