I seem to be a bit rubbish at creating a perfect hexagon, but I get there in the end.
I will be purchasing and extension kit and some wall brackets to allow me to cordon-off an area of the lounge. Sitting my little lad in the playpen set-up makes him look like an extra from Porridge.
I think you can have confidence in using this pen whenever you do have to leave the littl'un to do other chores in the house. It's incredibly sturdy with a nice soft mat and a really useful gate. I imagine it's a hassle to have to put it up and take it down repeatedly although ours is left in situe and would suggest doing that if you can.
Our little one is 9 months and is just starting to be on the move. She has grown out of her bouncy chair and just wants to be exploring. This is the perfect thing as I can put her in it and get on with things knowing that she is quite safe. It is quite large but that gives her space to crawl about. It has given me peace of mind.

It is quite heavy which is a good thing. The padded base has to be looped on with elastic bands and then tied with a lot of ribbons to hold in place at each section. I would say this is the only downside as when you fold it away the next time you get it out you have to re attach the base :( but apart from that its really useful, sturdy, the opening gate is a big bonus as it saves you getting a sore back.... I sometimes sit in it and play too! its heavy but I suppose that is good because its sturdy.
My sons loves his playpen, he has alls his toys in it and will happily play, while mummy can do the housework, have shower, answer the door etc!! Would definatly recomend this product to any one that needs to get on with jobs and know that their toddler isn't pulling things apart.
A great sturdy playpen. It could be heavy/bulky for a petite lady or if you have back problems! But it does erect very easy, and is very well made.
Its a great product to protect my baby when she is on her own. She is 8 months and trying to move around in the house. I could not be with her 24/7 as I have to do other things too (eg; cooking, cleaning or shower). So I bought the Playpen from kiddicare.com. Its good structure and very useful. Its easy to assemble. Now my baby is playing in a protected area when I'm not around her and I do not need to worry too much about her safety now.
The wall brakets need to be ordered from the manufacturer seperatly. But If the wall brackets are attached as part of the product, it would be much better.
Used for 7 month old for his own safety! Great because it has padded base and gate which makes it easier to put him in/out.
We bought two of these to use as stairgates in our new home as the stairs did not lend themselves towards more conventional stair gates. All in all these are an excellent product to use to restrict the new found mobility and independence of toddlers!
Excellent product will be a life saver!!

The great thing about this is it can be used in a variety of ways. During the winter months I used it to block half a room off which allowed by daughter a large SAFE play area. In the summer I take it outside.
I'm expecting my first child so haven't actually
used the baby den yet but I have set it up and was very pleased with how quick and easy that was
and how smart it looked. The one point I mentioned as a con was that its quite heavy but actually that's a good thing because its very sturdy!
What I like....
Good sturdy design once constructed - although feels a little wobbly when trying to put it together! The base mat has been used the most - for new baby to sit on the floor with some degree of padding! The bars must make it feel a little like prison - I think a clear mesh would feel nicer for the child
What I don't like....
The prison style bars. Also whilst the size is good for baby to play safely, they soon grow out of it and it becomes confined to the loft (unless you use it like a fireguard like we did!)
its great as we have a large lounge. it is a safe place to put my climbing 1yr old in. [...]
use every day
pen is great.
a little heavy
This has been a life saver since my little boy started crawling. I was not prepared for how hectic life would be once he started moving around. But now I have somewhere I can leave him while I get on with chores or take a breather. The only downside is that it is heavy to carry from room to room on my own.
I can leave my baby there and don't worry that he can harm himself, he likes playing there.
Good value for money, easy to set up, easy to clean. This playpen provides a safe environment for my little boy without him getting into trouble or danger - invaluable for those times when you need to nip to the loo or put the dinner on. I bought one a couple of months ago and have been so pleased with it I bought a second for Grandma's house. [...] Highly recommended.
Baby boy William, 8? months loves it as he can pull himself up and walk around it. Safe as construction is heavy / stable.
Will use the 3.6m in garden when summer comes.
Very happy with product
At last , no more aching arms. No more moving baby in to every room I'm in and I'm now on top of the housework. The only down side i can see to this playpen is that if your baby cant quite sit unaided then there is a chance that he might hit his head on the bars if he topples over. The mat at the bottom is well padded and very comfortable.
Having looked at this on various sites, this was the best value option. I decided to use a playpen for my daughter who doesn't sleep much in the day so I could get a few things done without worrying she was somewhere she shouldn't be the moment I turned around. So far she is quite happy while I do a few jobs. She isn't crawling or walking yet but now she is used to it once she is on the move I'm sure it will be very handy to park her when we need to. It was very easy to put together and will pack away again when we need the space. I haven't used it as a fire guard or room divider yet but plan to do both as needed.
Good-serves a purpose..does take up a lot of space and once assembled isn't as strong in the frame as you would expect. Very heavy.
Overall good, great it came with a fitted cushion too and is great if you need to get things done.
This Playpen is versatile and easy to put up. It seems sturdy. We purchased two additional sections to turn the hexagon into a larger square shape, but you can easily use the Playpen as a room divider or hearth gate etc.
The only slight negative is that I wish babydan did a range of mats to fit different sized playpen combinations (like the 120x120cm square we now have) as I have had to make my own mat.
It's great for my child to learn basics of growth and development.
A perfect safe play area for your baby or toddler, I even used it to keep a sleeping baby safe whilst excited toddlers played near by.
I found it easy to assemble and the mat inside comes out easily to clean. The gate opening is great, saves you lifting a child in or out. My son seemed to like to be able to get in and out on his own rather than me lifting so didn't mind going in.
The playpen is also really stable and won't move when used as a walking aid and due to the design of the gate little fingers can't get trapped either. It can also be re-arranged to form different shapes aswell if you don't always need it as a pen.
All in all I think it's great and gives me the peace of mind that he's safe when I can't watch him.
useful device for keeping baby safe whilst doing short errands - our baby doesnt like it for more than 15 minutes, but that gives you enough time now and again.
very good product
only downside is baby can bang his head on hard metal bars. only way round this would be if they were padded
Just what you need when the doorbell rings, or you just need to get on with life, our little one has just started crawling and getting his hands into everything so you sometimes just need somewhere safe where you can put him for a little while. There's plenty of room for a few toys to keep him amused while he's there. Of course you should never leave your little one unattended, but it does mean you don't have to be constantly staring at the little monster to make sure he's not about to insert something into the nearest plug socket !
A well designed, sturdy addition to your nursery
I have this playpen set up in my living room and i wouldn't be without it. My daughter loves being in it. It was easy to put together and i think looks nice.
Brought this once my little monster started crawling everywhere and must say it's been very useful. First I assembled as a play-pen (yes, I put this together it's that easy!!), the hubbie made it into a room divider which is a life saver. Not the cheapest product around but honestly believe you get what you pay for.
This is the ideal product for a newborn a safe environment in which they are able to have a little freedom of expression to enjoy there fun time. Stable, and when the baby is in it, it's a weight off our minds. We are able to gave some down time knowing baby is ok Thank You
I bought two of these, one also for grandparents house. Very useful for keeping baby safe whilst dealing with older child. It is quite bulky and quite stiff to fold up resulting in the playpen being left built up most of the time but at least we know we have the option to fold down if need be. The playpen is sturdy, large enough for an active baby to move around and room for their toys too. Highly recommended, with a very mobile 7 month old not sure I could have managed without this.
My husband and I decided to invest in the babydan playpen for my daughter when she was 6 months old because she was getting more active and we wanted to give her her own little play area where she could feel safe and keep all her toys. This product, although not the most attractive looking, is extremely useful as a safety device especially when you need to pop out of the room for a few minutes without your baby! The cushion is fully washable and the sturdy bars are great for helping your little tot practice pulling themselves up, I am convinced it made my little girl stand up more quickly because of all the practice. My daughter is now coming up to a year old and although she no longer likes to be confined to the den she still crawls into it to use it as a play area (we keep the door open) and we still use it for safety when we need to.
The den is a godsend with my little one, as she's into everything and we also have two dogs. I know that when my daughter is in the den, she's safe, and kept in one place ( the dogs are also safe from any unsolicticed attention!) I can then get on with fixing lunch with peace of mind. My sister also bought one, and we find is worth its weight in gold, when we have two little bundles of joy to look after! Also very handy when caravanning.
