It is a good idea. The only down side was that my youngest son thought it was a game and kept asking for the naughty mat!

This product was great, as the kids could understand time! The lights on this product show a countdown and helped toddlers to understand how long they have to go. Improved behaviour as it gave them some form of understanding.

A very good product as it will conveniently fit in the place mat drawer in the kitchen when not in use!
Beware of little boys hiding the product under the sofa!

I have used timeout with my little one from the age of 1 but, with this pad I can take it anywhere and my daughter will know I can give her a timeout wherever we are regardless if we are in an unfamiliar place. it is also more fair on the child I think as it gives them a sense of being consistent. the only downsize was that she is quite light and the alarm went off sometimes even though she was still sitting on the pad.

This time out pad has been an absolute godsend in our house. My three year old son initially went on it at least a couple of times a day, and now maybe has to sit on it once a week at the very most. It is portable and much more effective than the naughty step idea we were using before, although is obviously the same concept.
