Im happy to say no more sleepless nights from worrying! The Angel care monitor is fab and does as it says.

As a first time (& nervous) parent we wanted to purchase a monitor that would allow us to hear if our baby had woken up & required attention & crucially also offered us the peace of mind that all was well with our baby without having to constantly check breathing by going into the nursery & risk disturbing the baby.
The product also has the benefit of incorporating a night light - ideal for night time feeding & nappy changes.
Plus the guaranteed peace of mind reduces the amount of times we go up & down the stairs - which at the end of a long day is a welcome respite for both mummy & daddy.
The sensor pad can't be used in a moses basket - as it needs to be placed on a flat surface - so if you don't opt for a crib before graduating to a cot / cot bed you can only use the sound & lights monitor - but once you move the baby into a cot then you can start using the sensor.
The Angelcare monitor affords us the confidence to relax & ' switch off ' whilst our child is napping or sleeping, safe in the knowledge that the unit will alert us immediatly of any problem.

The best item i have bought for my baby!
By Yummy MummyVerified Purchaser from blackpool on 1/29/2008
Pros:
Clear Signal, Good Range, Great Features, I get more sleep, Peace of mind, Reliable, Simple, User Friendly
Cons:
Poor Battery Life
Best Uses:
Infants, Naps, Newborns, Sleep
Describe Yourself:
Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use this great device at night time, it allows me to relax knowing that my baby is being monitored while i sleep. I also use it during the day when i need to be reassured that i can sleep when baby sleeps as everyone tells you to. Although this is not a life saving device, i feel that it would give me an early warning if the worst were to happen giving me the chance to help my baby. I reccomend all parents learn baby CPR also.

It is great as it can be used under a cot, carry cot or moses basket mattress (although not suitable for use in a swinging crib)

The only downside is that the batteries wear out very quickly, so should be plugged into the mains.

We received this as a gift from a friend. It really changed our lives! Yes that does sound a bit dramatic, I know, but we were constantly worried about our baby sleeping. It's a common worry, so we're told, and we found that we were either wishing he was asleep so we could sleep or when he was asleep we were constantly waking up to check on him. This device changed all that and took away our morbid worry of "how would I know if he stopped breathing/moving?". Well you'd know because the alarm would sound. If you're even more worried about your baby you can put it onto the 'tic' mode, so the parent's unit emits a 'tic' noise every time the pad senses a movement. We found that to be really annoying though. We live in a small apartment so we haven't used it as a baby monitor as we'd always hear him. I did try it and to be honest the sound quality wasn't brilliant. There is a newer 'digital' model I think which may be clearer. That said, id did still work as a baby monitor. As an aid to peace of mind while we sleep it's been invaluable!

A must for the first time parent
By Learning ParentVerified Purchaser from Surrey on 1/25/2008
Pros:
Clear Signal, Reliable, Simple, User Friendly
Best Uses:
Newborns, Remote Monitoring, Sleep
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This monitor provides the first time parent with a huge piece of mind via the movement sensor pad. The pad sits under the cot or mosses basket mattress to sense the smallest of movements from your baby. Each movement is displayed on the nursery unit by a flashing indicator or an audible ?tick? that can be turned off. I found it very reassuring to wake up in those early nights and see the flashing light. The only drawback is that this flashing light / tick functionality occurs on the nursery unit only. Therefore, if you?re in another room with the parent unit you will not benefit from these features. Having said this I would still recommend this monitor. It may be a little pricier than other monitors but it is worth the money.

I think all mums and dads worry that their child will stop breathing whilst asleep. This product gives you peace of mind to sleep yourself knowing the alarms would sound if there were any problems. This alarm is so efficient it went off in the middle of the night when my daughter had wiggled her way to the top of the cot slightly out of range. It scared the life out of me, but reassured me how well it works!

We used this monitor with our daughter from the first day we came out of hospital. It's very easy to set up and very easy to test if it works.
We bought a monitor with a sensor mat for extra piece of mind. The sensitivity of the sensor mat can be increased or decreased, although we have left it on the manufacturers settings.
We don't use the parents unit as we keep the doors open to hear her when she cries and the alarm if it sounded is loud enough to hear without the parents unit if you are about the house.

We bought this specifically for the movement sensor to give us peace of mind. Although we barely used that option- as Baby is a very noisey sleeper, it does ease your mind when they are particularly quiet and you dont want to go and check in case it wakes them. The sound is very clear and you can adjust the sensitivity of the sound pick up. If you are a worried parent its perfect for you- if you are more relaxed go for a cheaper brand without the movement sensor.

The angel care monitor is a must for anxious parents like us. We used it from day one in the moses basket and now use it in our baby's cot. It was very reassuring in the early days to have a quick look at the monitor and see the blinking light that tells you your baby is breathing - much better than giving him a poke! now we use the sound monitor too and that also works billiantly. The angel monitor is easy to use, portable (we always take on holiday) and worth every penny. I honestly haven't found any cons with this product so far.
