This is our second Volo - you can't get a better lightweight stroller. It's not suitable for younger children but, then, that's not what it sets out to do. It's great for (air) travel and our son seems to love it.
Great for walking around town, easy to open and put away. Being so light easy to sling in the back of the car or carry on your shoulder if toddler wants to walk for a bit
i use this product when i go to the high street and also local i think its a fantastic buggie but i have 1 problem which is the hood it does'nt adapt [...] i have alot of problems with it in a windy weather.
Good product overall. Only complaint is that the clips are difficult to snap closed and click open again (my mother-in-law can't do it).
Excellent and so easy to use.
The little one loved it too and set about chewing the safety reins which seemed safe to chew as well as restrain.
A good product that anyone coulsd be proud to wheel out.
Used it at the weekend, very light and so easy to steer. Ideal for taking on holiday abroad. Doesnt recline but I think my 10 month old will be comfortable in it when napping
Ideal buggy for toddler/older child. Easy to carry/steer when they want to walk too.
The good things about this pushchair are obviously the price, the weight and portability of it. It is a pity there is only one seat position, but my little girl virtually never sleeps on the go so that doesn't really matter. I'm not too sure if it is the comfiest lightweight buggy around, but she certainly doesn't complain about it.
Maclaren always make good buggies - this being our second one as the first had so much use. Great value too.
It really is very very lightweight.
This little buggy is as nifty as it gets. Our other pushchair took up the whole of the boot space in my wife's car, so the Maclaren is a dream to stow. Plus she looked about as comfortable lifting the other one as she would parking a Hummer at the supermarket.
But for me the best thing is the fact that I can put some reins on our 16-month old, sling the buggy over my shoulder, and let him do a bit of walking without having to steer a cumbersome pushchair as well. He gets that bit more freedom and it's wonderful.
If it had an adjustable seat, it would be five stars and just about perfect.
I finally decided to change my heavy cumbersome 2-in-1 for the lightweight Maclaren Volo. Wish I'd done it sooner! It is light, steers well and is very easy to put up. Best feature is the shoulder strap which means I can sling it over my shoulder when we need to negotiate stairs - it weighs less than my usual handbag..
Great lightweight buggy. Not adjustable so using occasionally.
I am really pleased with this as a second pushchair. It is fantastically light weight and it is easy to deal with a 2 year old and it at the same time when getting on and off of busses, trains etc. The only down side is that it does not recline which means she doesn't nap in it. Overall I am very happy with it as a second pushcahir for quick outings and outings involving public transport.
I have bought this buggy for holiday use, it seems very strong even though it is the lightest available on the market. Folds up intuitively and has a carry and hang strap built in. Also has a basket - essential for travel- and a great hood which can swing down to cover up a hot or sleeping baby. Only disadvantage I can see is if your child needs a lie-back buggy to sleep in - luckily mine will sleep anywhere when she's tired.
This is a great buggy, bought to replace one that had worn out. It's so lightweight that you can easily carry it with the shoulder strap, whilst manhandling a toddler up some steps at the same time! The only downside is that it doesn't recline, but for the money it is extremely good value.
A greal little pushchair at a great price. It does the job and looks good. Perfect for going shopping and just getting it out when your little one gets tired of walking or if they're not at the walking stage yet. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that it is not adjustable, but to be honest I don't see it as a problem as it's one less thing to go wrong.
Great for short trips but not very comfortable - seat isnt adjustable and no calf rest. The other disadvantage is that there is no footmuff and if you put on a standard one, the pushchair will not clip closed (although it does clip easily without the footmuff on).
Having said that, I bought the pushchair for use on the bus - and am delighted with it for that purpose. It is very lightweight, easy to put up, easy to steer. So I would definitely recommend it for this purpose.
i was unsure about buying the product but when it came its great folds away in the car lightweght so easy to push i would recommend buying it
after having a bugaboo this was different for me but i love it.
I am very pleased with the stoller it is so light and is ideal for a day out shopping as it doesnt take half as much room as the big buggy. We are off on holiday in May and this stroller will be ideal.
Would recommend to anyone
This is a great lightweight stroller ideal for the school run, it is so much lighter than my last pushchair I don't know how I managed without it.
my daughter loves this.
i needed to get a new buggy for in busy places as my daughter likes to run instead of walk. This has been fantastic and so easy to put up and down
many thanks
The product is cheap, effective and most importantly easy to use and light. I do not like the colour it is like the colours used by easyjet!
I bought this for my toddler as his old pushchair had given up on us, what a fantastic buy! The Volo is very well built and surprisingly roomy. The seat back is slightly less upright than many non-adjustable buggies and comes up far enough to fully support my 3 year olds head so he is extremely comfortable even when sleeping. Also the raincover comes down over the footrest leaving plenty of room for his feet (many don't).
I really cannot fault this buggy, if your child is over 6 months I would strongly recommend this.
Lightweight, folds up really small, easy to steer, easy to fold/unfold.
I really just use this for trips to school, to drop my eldest daughter off. I also take it shopping with me
A tremendous product at excellent value for money. Many more inferior buggies on the market at a higher value. The Volo is simply a must!
It's a fantastic buggy. It's so easy to steer and to fold up. I use the wide hood to hold my supermarket shopping like a basket and use the handles afterwards as hooks for the bags. It's so light that I've carried a one year old up 4 flights of stairs with the buggy slung over my shoulder. I have used it for 3 years and it was still very sturdy but silly me left it by the pavement and drove away without it so had to buy another. Cons are the brakes needs to be applied by hands most times and that I need to remember to put my very heavy bags down before I lift up my child but I've never experience it tipping with the child in it. We own 3 buggies, a Jane Pro Slalom, Mama and Papas but this is our favourite.
Having resisted buying a stroller, have finally decided that the current three-wheeler is too cumbersome for town use.
Recently tested it on our village streets and green - neither exactly even - and it coped admirably (if not as well as the three-wheeler).
If you need a light-weight stroller for urban use, I think this is ideal but will be sticking to the other around the country roads!
This is a great stroller for a toddler. My little boy is 20 months and although likes to walk on reins, a stroller is a must when I am shopping! This is light and easy to manoever even one handed. I can carry it on my shoulder if we are getting on a cnventional bus. His bottom fits comfortably into the seat and the basket is quite reasonable.
I would say that it would not be the buggy for me if my son liked to sleep in the pushchair as it is single position, but he never has slept in any buggy.
It is also prone to tipping over when my son gets out. That's with or without shopping in the back.
However it's the best of three buggies I have owned and I am really happy with it so far!
After having our original pushchair from birth ( a low 7kg affair) the time had come to replace it with an even lighter and easily foldable one for my toddler of two and a half to jump into when she was tired, but to not be too cumbersome for me to cart about too. We use buses a lot, and do a great deal of walking/pushchairing. This Volo buggie has been great - just as it offered it is super lightweight, and very easy to fold. The only downside to the lightweight is that without the child in the buggy it is impossible to just put shopping on the handles as the whole thing topples over. Other than that, and once done you don't do it again, it is great.
I was really pleasantly surprised with this buggy, the pictures on here don't do it justice as the colours look great. It is very comfortable to push and the handles are perfect height. Compared to other buggies I've had it feels nice and solid even though ultimately it is quite basic.
This is a brilliant product once little ones start to toddle and you cannot be asked with heavier puschairs that are not easy to steer with one had because lets face it you need the other hand to keep your child from running off.I have read most of the reviews on this site before buying this product-the two main cons that you have found were not easy operable brakes and the fact that the puschair is not adjustable. I found the brakes very easy to operate & as for adjustability- does not bother my dauhter in the slightest, she seems very comfy in it awake and asleep.
Large and comfy for my almost-three girl.
We got round it not being pink by calling it 'duck buggy' because of yellow colour and gave her a toy duck with it. She loves it!
Rain-cover reaches over her feet rather than dumping water on them like previous buggy rain combo did.
Buggy will be brilliant for underground train and buses because of low weight and carry strap. Only thing I don't like is sideways brake. This seems common to most of Mclaren range. Listen up McLaren, brake action induces groin strain and makes brake difficult to engage. Am not the first to observe this!
Overall very pleased with my purchase though.
I bought this stroller after seing good reviews on kiddicare.
I am very pleased with the stoller it is so light and is ideal for a day out shopping as it doesnt take half as much room as the big buggy. We are off on holiday in September and this stroller will be ideal.
Would recommend to anyone
If only I had found this first I could have saved so much stress!! It is so easy to use, incredably lightweight and the steering is fantastic, it doesn't get better than this for a toddler. Thank you Maclaren!!
i have tried lots of strollers before buying this product, most were too heavy and our feet caught the wheels and chasis as we pushed them. my son's nursery loaned me a volo one day and i didn't want to give it back! catching the chasis with our feet as we walk is minimal as the volo is slim line. it is also tall enough in the handles so you don't need to stoop and get back ache as with some strollers!
i was a bit sceptical about buying this, from the picture it didnt look like much and looked quite small. but i took the plunge and wow!!!
im really really impressed! after always having a bugaboo this was different for me but i love it.

Great for the school run.
I have worked with children for 19 years, and this is my 4th own pushchair. I always buy Maclaren, but this is incredible once your child can support their own head and are 'big' enough not to need to lie back to sleep. I use it primarily for train/tube to London and my previous buggy was too heavy for this. I also couldn't believe the price on this site!
However, I don't like Volvo cars much, so a name change may have swung it earlier, te he!
This is an excellent buggy for children aged over 12 months and I would recomend to anyone, althoug its probably not suitable for smaller babies. It is amazingly light and the build quality is excellent, and with the carry strap you can just throw it over your shoulder. Ideal for little ones like mine who want to walk everywhere on their own but tire out very quickly!! If you want one that reclines this is not for you, but for kids aged over a year, this is perfect and you'll be pushed to find better at this price.
it's a great product even for an everyday usage. the only problem it's that the back it's not adjustable, but the position seems very confortable for my son.
I have got two kids and felt that my Phil and Ted was too cumbersome so I went for the volo as it is easy to use not wobbly to push and I'm delighted with my purchase
great lightweight buggy for nipping about
just got it a couples of day ago and so far it has been great.
looking forward to test in a long trip i am doing in a few weeks, hope it doesnt dissapoint me.
really easy to fold and unfold with baby in your arms!!
I purchased this pushchair for my 2 1/2 year old daughter to use as her previous buggy was past it's best and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a fancy pushchaur when she wouldn't be needing the buggy for much longer (and didn't need it all the time when we were out). I use public transport a lot so I wanted something easy to fold, and this fits the bill perfectly - easy to fold and to secure and then easy to put up again. There is also a shoulder strap which is very useful. It comes with a hood and practical raincover (which is easy to store and to put on, which not all are in my experience!) and is easy to manoveure. The buggy is very light, which is a plus point, but do be careful about hanging heavy bags over the handles as it will tip back.
One thing which I find tricky is the brakes - I find them difficult to put them on and take off again with one foot.
Very light. Easy to steer. Comes ready to use out of the box.
Excellent product for toddlers as it so roomy and so comfortable. It is lightweight, has a huge hood, easy raincover to put on, and when on it is still roomy inside for my toddler. It has a mesh type seat but the hood comes down the back so no rain or wind will get to your child. Also the basket is easily accessible. It is going to be perfect for our holiday abroad and i think he will be quite happy to sleep in it too as although the seat is one fixed position it does seem to give a little when he rests he head back.
Excellent value and excellent for toddlers.
Great buy
This is a perfect buggy for an older child. I have been using it to take my toddler to and from playgroup and it's really easy and light for me to carry it home using the shoulder strap (I take a short cut through somewhere with a bumpy footpath). It is really well designed and sturdy for a lightweight buggy. I particularly like the hood as it is quite large and covers the child well in light showers or strong sunshine, and the raincover is really easy to put on too (and it is the only one I've ever used that my little boy lets me put down!) It's tiny when folded down and fits into a small corner in the hallway.
I bought this for my little girl when she was nearly 3 as a now and again pushchair for those days when she will not walk. It does what it says on the box and more. I was very impressed as I've had more expensive Mclarens in the past and never really rated them.
Really regret buying this product as it doesn't recline and my baby always looks uncomfortable in it. It is also quite wobbley due to an absolute lack of shock absorption in the hard wheels. More practical buggies can be brought for this price.
It is lightweight and was easy to take on an aeroplane but the gaps in the material at the sides of the buggy lets sunshine through that no sunshade could prevent.
I was searching for a buggy that would fit in the boot of my little Toyota Ago and I found it. The Volo is light and stylish, easy to put up and down and compact to store. My son is 6 months old and he looks really comfy in it. Best suited to fairly smooth terrain or shopping, the Volo also has a carry handle making it ideal for public transport. This buggy is not suitable for new babies as its a fairly simple design with no padding and does not recline. Also this may just be me being non too bright but I still can't find the brake! Overall a great pushchair at a reasonable price - buy this if you already have a travel system or bigger pram and need an extra smaller buggy.
Quality
Very good for taking on buses which don't have space for push chairs, since it is very light and has a shoulder strap. Reasonably comfortable, but not ideal for sleeping since it doesn't recline - best for toddlers. Very easy to fold, and stays folded thanks to a clip that automatically engages when you fold it (rather than those fiddly clips you have to manually attach that I've used on other lightweight buggies). Brakes are slightly trickier to engage than on most other buggies (you push the lever left/right rather than up/down), but work fine.
this product is wonderful in the fact that it is extremely lightweight and easy to move around, yet it seems to be rather uncomfortable.
as the back does not adjust so my baby always looked a bit scrunched up when he was having nap.
fine for a short trip out and about but not if your out for a few hours, which on holiday is very likely.
also if you hang any shopping on the handles it falls over as soon as you take the baby out, even if the bags are very light.
This buggy is great for those who travel by train or bus. It is so easy to put up and take down.
It is also light enough to carry - with the shoulder strap attached.
excellent value and quality!!
Great buggy for around town and for short trips or public transport. Easy to fold and keep in the back of the car and very light to lift with handy carry strap.
very good pushchair
Bought this for my three year old daughter as she's not quite ready to walk the whole way to and from my older son's school. The product is great. VERY lightweight and folds easily. Easy to steer as well. The only disadvantages that I have found are 1. It stays in only one position (does not recline at all). and 2. The sun visor is a bit flimsy and tends to come off its track.
