Purchased this item after using the small box supplied with the nappy system. Essentially this is a sanitiser powder that is added to your nappy wash as well as your usual laundry products. You only need to add 1 tablespoon of powder to a regular wash so it does last a while - if like me you end up doing a nappy wash every day with a newborn this is a very economical addition to the wash.
Despite having to deal with exclusively breastfed soiling (otherwise known as wet and explosive) I have found that with a spoonful of this added to a 60 degree prewash there is no need for our nappies to be presoaked before they go in the washing machine, even though I do routinely underdose slightly on washing tablets.
I would prefer a tablet form available rather than powder form, or failing that a small scoop be obviously provided with the bigger bags, since it means I now permanently have a tablespoon out of cutlery commission. Scoop doesn't need to be plastic or long lasting, a moulded cardboard (and therefore recyclable/biodegradable) would be a nice extra touch.

After soaking my very stained nappies, I only had to wash them in a normal wash and they came up pure white! I soak them straight away and there is no smell from the bin.
I use it in my nappy bucket and it's the only product I've found that stops it smelling. Plus the nappies come out lovely and clean, no staining and very white.

As a grandparent of seven, and being a parent again, We use this as part of our daily routine to clena the Bambino Mio nappies, we would not dream of using anything else. It helps make life that little bit easier, just sluice the soild nappy then pop into a bucket with the Mio fresh nappy sanitiser, then once every few days place into the machine with some Mio care washing powder. The whole sytem is great, and saves you money over buying all those disposables.

I use it in the nappy bucket as a soak as well as in the washing machine and it removes even the nastiest of baby poo stains
