The Svan highchair is great! It's very easy to assemble (I managed to put it together without any help from my husband). And as it's light and compact, it's easy to move from room to room if necessary.
We were given some extra money from the family and thought we would splash out on something a little bit special and Im so glad we chose the Svan High chair, its so sturdy and safe.
I love the way it can be adjusted so our little boy can sit up at the table with us as he grows, not only that but it looks great in our kitchen!
I wanted a highchair which pulled right up to the table but also had the facility of a tray. The Svan is perfect, my 25 week old son fits in it perfectly and seems very comfortable and supported.....as he can not sit without support as yet. The chair takes up a small amount of space and my husband & I are really pleased with it. In a nutshell it has an appealing modern design, is supportive, has a tray for even more support for a young baby (5-6months) also good for the baby when playing with toys, takes up a small amount of space and will last a lifetime!
After looking at lots of different highchairs available on the market, we went with the Svan. We love it! It meets all of our needs perfectly: the tray is removable, there's a dishwasher-safe plastic cover for the tray, the seat pads are washable and can be tumble dried. We orginally looked at the Tripp Trapp but wanted the option of a tray and the Svan provides this.
Our son tends to slouch in high chairs but the Svan keeps him upright - he seems really happy when he's in it, so he must find it comfortable!
I would recommend the Svan highchair to anyone!
I'm a first time parent and find this high chair excellent. My son liked it straight away and seems to find it really comfortable. It was really easy to put together as it comes with a DVD and also a step by step book. Definetly worth the money.
Our little one adapted to it immediately and after a few days can balance himself quite well. The plastic tray is nice for cleaning. It was a complete pain to assemble but I just followed the directions sllllooowwwly. Looks nice in the living room, one less piece of plastic junk!
This is a very well designed and built baby to child highchair, well worth the price tag. You get what you pay for! Tots from 4 months are very well supported. Looks good works perfectly...A+

We wanted a high chair that was not plastic and I personally did not like the design of the Tripp Trapp or that it did not have a feeding tray. We did though love the fact that the highchair can be adapted into a dining chair once the weaning stage was over. We felt that the Svan offered the same uses as the Tripp Trapp yet had a more interesting design and has a wooden tray to use during the weaning stage.
The Svan arrived very well packaged in one small cardboard box which pleased my eco friendly husband and was very easy to assemble.
My child who is just under 5mths just grinned when placed in the chair, there was no 'listing' to the side and she was obviously very comfortable and happy to be in the chair during the duration of our dinner. I have not yet had to wash the fabric cushion so unsure on how easy it is to clean which is the only reason why I did not give the chair full marks.
It's great that there is a plastic tray that you can place on top of the wooden tray and remove when your child is not so messy and then you can remove the wooden tray entirely when you want your child to eat at the table.
I really would recommend this chair, it's stylish, practical, adapts to your childs growing needs and most important is very comfortable for your child.
A great high chair - beautifully designed and a good fit for our six month old. We really like the fact that this is a chair that will hopefully suit her as she grows up - but also has the option of a tray while she is a messy eater! Wouldn't be great if you had limited space as it doesn't fold - but only takes up the space of a standard dining chair. Overall - it's fantastic and looks great. Definitely worth the money.
We looked for ages for a highchair, but the wait was worth it! The removable tray is good for cleaning, and the highchair is very small compared to others, it's ideal!
This highchair is great. After days of trudging around the shops finding that our 6 month old baby girl didn't fit in any of the other highchairs, we tried her in our friend's Svan. The best thing about this chair is that it really fits the baby and it will continue to do so as she grows because it's fully adjustable. She is snug as a bug - so much so that we have not had to use a harness to keep her secure. We use it to bring her up to the table whilst we are eating so she gets the idea of family meal times. The chair looks great in the dining room and was easy to assemble. The delivery was great from kiddicare and watching the video online of how to work the Svan was as good as a shop demo. All in all, we are super pleased with everything. It is a bit more pricey than other chairs, but we think its worth it!

the best one... my 5 month old son loves it and we love it too.
I spent so long trying to decide which high chair to buy, and trying to justify the cost of this one, and wasted a lot of time in the process!! In the end it was between this one and the Tripp Trapp, and I am so glad we went for this, as the tray makes a big difference, but it can also be used at the table, without the tray, just like the Tripp Trapp.
Haven't really got a bad word to say about it - it's great quality, really light (so I can carry it easily around the house - it's great for when I'm sitting at the computer because my baby can join me) and looks fab.
I bought this highchair for my 5 and a half month son. He is secure and comfortable in this chair. Its easy to use and the plastic cover makes it easy to clean. Its light so I can move it around the house. It's a good looking chair which fits well into my kitchen / dinningroom. I also really like the flexibility of using it with or without the tray
[...]fairly easy to put together - apart from screwing the latches on to the tray - the instructions said not to use a hand drill but both my husband and I found it really hard to screw the latches on by hand! Both got blisters trying and even now I feel they could be tighter! Otherwise we love all this high chair has to offer, its easy to clean, compact and very light. I'm sure we will get a lot of use out of this chair in the years to come.

Just started weaning and our daughter and she loves it! Lots of support on all 4 sides and can be fully tailored to fit and adjusted as she grows.
Beautifully made, very strong and super stable - especially give it's size (no bigger than an average dining room chair!)
Whilst it doesn't fold away its beech wood and stylish design is very subtle - looks perfectly at home in modern or traditional setting.
Easy to assemble in 15-20mins - basic flatpack experience required.
We're delighted with this chair. It takes a little time to put together but it is really worth it. Attractive, light, easy to use and (so far anyway) it is escape-proof! The fact that you can use or take off the tray is great (before finger food we are without the tray). It may be one of the most expensive chairs but it is worth every penny.
Although this high chair is expensive I believe it was worth every penny. It is extremely good looking and contains my daughter well. She loved it from the moment she got in it. So far I haven't bought a harness as I don't feel she needs it, but on speaking to more experienced mum's I may have to get them in the future. But at the moment it keeps my daughter sitting up well and she enjoys the freedom to play. Other highchairs do not support her in this way.
The only thing I might have changed on it would be the cushions to be more wipable. I'm worried they will ruin quickly, although I may be wrong about this as so far no stains.
The plastic tray is brilliant.
The high chair is a lot smaller than you think (definitely takes up less space than a conventional high chair.
We needed a high chair that wouldn't take up much room, and this is great. It can be tucked away, up to the table, and is just like another chair. It will also convert into a chair for every stage of our child's development. Our son is not yet 6 months, and with the harness, he is perfectly safe and sitting upright in the chair for his first meals. It's also an attractive and high quality chair, and was pretty quick and easy to assemble.
I was slightly nervous about purchasing the Svan due to the high price, but now I'm so pleased that we got it. It is much smaller and nicer to look at than many of the plastic highchairs. It is all fully adjustable, so small enough for our baby who is only just 6 months and not yet able to sit - when we visit other people and use their highchairs, our baby slides all over the place because they are too big for him. He loves sitting in it, both for feeding (he is eating much better now too) and also loves sitting in it to play and he is so much happier being at our height. This should last us for many years as it is all fully adjustable and can become a chair at the table too. It is easy to assemble and also easy to adjust. Excellent product.
So far my Husband and I are really glad we bought this even though it was one of the more expensive highchairs. We liked the natural wood and design of the chair and are happy that it is able to adapt as our daughter grows.
The are a few downsides, one is that you need to tighten the screws periodically as they tend to loosen over time. Second is that even the tightest setting for the tray position is quite large. So if your infant is small but active, as our 9 month old daughter, they have too much room to move around - I turned away from her for a few seconds to get her dinner and when I turned back I caught her standing up in the seat and trying to climb out onto the kitchen table!
We are delighted with this highchair and plan to use it for many years. It has the advantages of a highchair (table etc.) but with the bonus is it becomes a chair to sit at the table. It is easy to use, I especially like the clip removable plastic cover which can be washed under the tap - much easier than wiping down. Finally we like its aesthetics.
My son has loved sitting in his Svan highchair since he was 6 months' old as unlike other models, the Svan is a perfect fit, with no massive gap between him and the tray for food to drop in his lap. The tray is just the right height so that it doesn't come up to his nose as has happened trying out friends' highchairs. It is compact too with no legs to trip over, just the right size for our little house. Even with the tray on, as it's not oversized, our son can feel very much part of the family dining at the table as the highchair can be drawn up close to us until we are brave enough to take it off altogether. I haven't found anything so far that isn't great about it!
The Svan highchair is great if you dont have a big house with no place to store a high chair.
Its compact and stylish so looks fine left out. It does not take over the room and great during family mealtimes as the baby really feels a part of the experience. Its great for pre meal playtime with an adequate tray for small toys.
Light and easy to move from room to room if you want to. Easy to put together so long as you are flat pack orientated.
Bit on the pricey side but has been money well spent in light of the longevity of the product.
The tray can be set so that it's close to a young child - great when starting to wean. The removable plastic tray cover clips on and off very easily so is convenient to clean. The base is stable but, unlike many highchairs, does not have a triangular base so there aren't any legs to trip over!
Definitely need the plastic tray cover
I like the fact that it's more like a piece of furniture than a plasticky high chair and the cushions are really easy to clean, which is important. And although it doesn't fold up, it does have a relatively small footprint. The one thing that bugs me is that, although there is a plastic tray to go over the wooden one, you really have to clean both because food gets all over the sides of it and stuck under the plastic so it's kind of pointless and might be better if it had only one tray to clean instead of two. It was also terribly expensive for, what is essentially, a high chair. The fact that it converts into an adult seat is not very important because it is a hideous looking chair when it's converted. I would only use it for a child.

We spent a lot of time looking out for a wooden highchair that sits up to the table, but that also had the benefit of a tray when needed, and this fitted the bill perfectly. There isn't that many wooden trays that come with a tray but this suited brilliantly. It is compact and easily cleanable and although my baby is petite, she fitted in it snugly from 6 months. I like the fact that it will last a long time as it turns into a chair eventually, and it had a modern feel to it.
Easy to clean with the plastic tray cover. Looks stylish and has very simple lines - not a big ugly thing that most other highchairs seem to be. I love it and if my 9mth old daughter could talk, I'm sure she'd agree!
Stylish and very hard wearing. Seat cover washes really well.Great chair
This highchair has been one of our best baby purchases and has received lots of positive comments from friends and family. It looks stylish and fits in really well with our other funiture. It is very easy to adjust as your child grows and will eventually be used as a normal adult chair. Our purchase from Kiddicare was excellant value [...]My son was able to sit in this easily before he could even sit unsupported elsewhere and because it can be adjusted to fit your child so well, you don't require a harness until they are much older, if at all. Whenever my son is able to start standing in it we just lower the foot rest a bit further. This chair is quite expensive, but will be used for many years. The only negative for some would be that it doesn't fold for storage, but we find it sits with the tray just higher than our kitchen table, so can be pushed in.The tray stores on the back when not in use and the seat covers are machine washable. It also all comes apart for ease of cleaning. If you want a wooden highchair this is fab.
