My little boy is a curious fella and always wants to be involved in what's going on (normal for an 18 month old I think!) Consequently he constantly wanted to be picked up in the kitchen to have a nose at what I was doing. Hence the tired arms and frustration of not being able to get anything done. I resorted to standing him up on a chair which he loved but not the safest. After several falls (luckily none of them nasty) I decided something had to be done, little helper has saved the day! It is great as I can put him up to the sink or worktop he can play, I know he is safe so we are both happy. He now gets involved in making his lunch and washing up, and as it is light we also take it into the bathroom so he can wash his face, hands and clean his teeth, or just stand up at the sink and watch Dad shave!
It is quite pricey but I think we will use it a lot and I sold it to my husband as an extra worktop (I got the butchers block too!) I know lots of people say why bother just use a chair but I could never relax and I would feel awful if he hurt himself. The little helper is a small price to pay for freedom in the kitchen and some peace of mind!
Well done to the Fun Pod - it's a great piece of furniture. I use it every day to entertain my 18 month old daughter in the kitchen - she either 'helps' me ;-) or plays whilst I work and I know that she is completely safe. Much better than me leaving her to watch telly! Only downside is that black does mark easy like most things but it is really trendy and suits my kitchen!
