Having used a manual breast pump with my first child several years ago, I found that after 20 minutes of use, I ended up in a sticky, frustrated mess. I gave a great deal of thought to buying a pump of any description, never mind one for nearly [$].This pump is completely different though. It's easy to set-up and use. It runs off the mains so there are no battery requirements. It is reasonably small so there isn't bulky equipment lying around the house. You can extract about 3-4oz of milk in around 20 minutes, which is ideal if you need to go out and baby is due a feed. You can use it on the other breast while feeding your child, although this is tricky! Personally, I didn't get the use out of it for the price, as I was fortunate to be able to breast feed on demand. I would suggest that this is better aimed at mothers who have to return to work after a short maternity absence, mothers who wish to extend giving breast milk after teething has started or for those who have to spend a great deal of time on the move, and don't wish to breast feed in public. If you can justify the cost, this is a fantastic little machine and I would highly recommend it.
This pump really does mimic a baby feeding, it's quick and easy to use. Much better than other pumps I've tried and also very compact and can be battery operated so can take it out with me.
Worth the price I think. It isn't too big to store, comes apart easily to clean, and most importantly does the job it's meant to.
