No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Good shape - well designed for little hands to grasp. Cleans easily in the dishwasher, easy to dismantle. Soft spout is good against delicate gums, but unfortunately the inside of the spout splits (I've had 3 of these) and I can't seem to buy replacement spouts so have had to throw away 3 otherwise perfectly good cups. For this reason I wouldn't buy another one. With 4 children under six I have tried most beakers around!

This is a easy cup to hold for my 2 1/2 year old. We only use it for water. Easy to clean and does not leak at all.
