Having read reviews about getting what you pay for I was very impressed with the quality of the whole chair. We have it in our small box room with a cot and wardrobe and although you have to have it away from the wall when its in use there is still plenty of space. The cushioning also offers exceptional confort. I can't see what an additional ?200-?300 buys you, as this was a fantastic buy!

Wasn't sure if I needed this chair but my Mum pursuaded me to order it now (am 30 weeks pregnant) and I'm so glad I did! It's v comfy (have had backache recently and chair is relaxing and better for posture that lying on sofa) and I can imagine will make breastfeeding so much easier/more enjoyable. It's pretty straightforward to put together (although we got stuck assembling one of the arms so be patient!). The rocking action is v smooth. In summary, this chair is great value for money [...].Definitely recommend it !

A great comfortable chair for feeding or general sitting according to both Grans! Only drawback is the material is a little rough but easily solved by covering with a cheap throw and keeps it clean too. We wouldn't be without it now and i can see it being used long after our little one stops bottle feeding.

We brought this chair as I am finding it hard to get on and off the sofa. I have 5 weeks to go and I am huge!

The chair was very easy to assemble for my husband and mum, whilst I watched!

Great value. I was concerned that it would not be as good as the other brands available on the market as there is such a price difference but it's great.

Very glad we got this nursing chair. So many people have told me that it's important to plan somewhere comfortable for feeding, and I am sure this will do the job well. For now, in the late stages of pregnancy, it's just a lovely place to sit, read, watch tv or do a relaxation exercise. And my partner wants one for himself!

The Hauck Glider Reclining nursing chair is comfortable, practical and exceptional value for money. [...] I've shopped online at most of the leading baby stores, and Kiddicare are by far and away the best. The only drawback to the Hauck chair is that it doesn't look particularly stylish, but that's true of all the nursing chairs I've seen.

It proved it's worth during those sleepless nights when we could settle down having a cuddle rocking in the chair. It is a good size, well padded and supportive, good for thoses early days when you're a little tender and stiff too. Wouldn't be without it now. Older children love it too!!

great chair and little to add given all the great comments already on here. one word of warning though - I was disappointed by the colour. despite the description saying beige and the pic looking beige, the chair i received has a definite orangey tinge to its beigeness! Put me off a little when I opened the box and thought it was worth warning others...

Intially very impressed with the chair. Very comfy and used it in late pregnancy. Unfortunately, not been able to breastfeed in it because high arms make it impossible to position baby, and worry about hitting her head against the unpadded wooden bit.
Still use it however for cuddles which we both enjoy.

I bought this after five weeks of breastfeeding on our sofa. It is definitely a far more comfortable option. The rocking motion is relaxing and it is easy to hold your baby without having to carry his/her whole weight in your arms. The downsides are that the fabric is quite rough to touch and not a great colour. (I thought from the photo that it would be cream but it is more towards a peach colour). I would describe the seat cushion as firm rather than luxurious.

I bought this product as it seemed very good value and had recieved very good reviews. I was disapointed the moment I opened the box. My first thought was where are the cushion covers? The covers have the appearance of cushion insides and are very thin and flimsy. My pert derier needs more padding! They are also a dark peachy beige which was not what i was expecting.
I havn't decided whether to keep it and get it re- upholstered or send it back as either way its gonna cost me more money. It is currently still in the box so I cannot comment on other aspects of performance. Much cheaper than its rivals but maybe you get what you pay for?

My wife loves this chair. We tried out some of the more expensive brands which were great too but way more expensive for very little extra. This one is /nearly/ as good although a little more stuffing in the back cushion wouldn't go amiss.
The reclining mechanism is basic but works well though you couldn't adjust it while holding a baby since you have to lift both armrests (like a reclining garden chair).
My wife is 7 months pregnant and find it more comfortable than the sofa as it seems to support her bump better. I have to confess I'm occassionaly caught in it too. :)
The most pleasing thing about it is that it's well built - they haven't skimped on the quality of wood so it should last a good long time.
The only downside apart from perhaps wanting a little more back cushioning (though it depends on your preferences) is that there is no lock to prevent the rocking action.
I'm not sure how big a problem that will be in the future but if it needs one I'd probably just make one myself anyway - it wouldn't be rocket science.

I love this chair! I've spent up to 5 hours a night sitting in it, and I'm so pleased I invested in a decent one. Sitting up breast feeding at night can be lonely and extremely frustrating, so its definately not something to compromise on.
My only critizism is that once my daughter has grown a bit her feet reach the arms whilst I'm feeding, enabling her to kick it. This is not good whist she has hold of my nipple! It would be better if the arms were shorter so that her legs could dangle off the side in front of the arm.
All in all though I would definately recommend it, and I don't see what the more expensive ones have that this one doesn't.

My sister came to see and said haven't you bought a nursing chair yet, i love mine i still use it now. So, that afternoon when our daughter was two weeks old, we ordered one online and have never looked back!

We bought the Hauck glider chair and footstool. it was very reasonably priced, easy to assemble (allan keys only, no scredrivers - and alan keys provided). it reclines but it's comfortable that i don't often use the recline option - i don't feel the need. I feed my daughter at midnight and it is nice to be comfortable and relaxed while doing so! i just sit in the chair. she leans her head on the padded arm and then i put my feet up! We also use it at bedtime, rocking in it and listening to her lullaby. For both of us we know this is part of our bedtime routine.

There are handy side pockets too - we keep a muslin, a book, infacol, and the mobile remote control in so all our bedtime needs are right by my side.

It's probably the one thing that if i had to save up for in terms of baby equipment, i would. Even my dad wants one at home just to use a rocking chair as it's so comfortable!

Initially I didn't think I would get a great deal of benefit from a specific nursing chair. But although my baby has not yet arrived, I am overdue, I already use it daily. Last week I had a very sore back so my husband brought this chair into the living room for me and I find it the most comfortable place to sit and it is good for my posture. I love the pockets at the side of the chair which my husband calls my 'holsters' they are perfect for TV remote's, phones and lipbalms! I am now convinced that this was an invaluable purchase. I look forward to having it back in the nursery when my baby arrives to be put to it's intended use.

All in all, a good purhase for the value; if you think Dutailier is too expensive.

This is a comfortable chair and is far better value than many at two, three and even four times the price. The cushions could be thicker but are acceptable. It is easy to recline...so long as you have both hands available! It is not quite so easy to sit back up again, but this is not a problem. The rocking motion is very smooth and easy.

All in all, even allowing for the couple of quibbles, this is a very acceptable chair and stool and we are very happy with it.

This is an all round good chair and stool and whilst I'm sure there are better chairs out there, for the price this one' great.

Whilst the chair is generally comfortable the base cushion could be a bit softer. I've also found that the arms are quite high (or base too low) and my little one has a tendancy to propel himself off the armrests with his feet ... although this may happen in all chairs!

Also found the colour to be slightly different than in the pictures shown.

Ideal for relaxed breast or bottle feeding though as baby gets longer I am finding the need to have a pillow across my knees due to the height of the arms. Good used with gliding stool. Am mainly using for bedtime and middle of night feeds and am able to be comfortable for longer 40-45 minute feeds.

When we first bought the chair we thought it would be used primarily while we were feeding our son. But during the first couple of months he had colic and the chair became very useful in helping him go to sleep. It hasn't stopped there, now that he is teething the rocking comforts him and when you have to hold a baby at 2 in the morning for a couple of hours you need a comfortable chair.
You do not need to buy the most expensive this is just as good as the others.
A hint though, buy a cushion for your head if you are tall, as the wood can get a bit hard on the back of the head.

*This chair is perfect for getting the little one off to sleep with his last bottle of the day.
*I found it too reclined and narrow to breastfeed in.
*This chair was used a lot in final month of pregnancy and may be the reason the baby was back to back.
*The grandparents want it for their house if we ever want to get rid of it!
