Great combination car seat, can be used from newborns (rearward-facing) to ~3-4 years (forward-facing), turns out to be very economical. Slighly heavy so would not be very easy to take out every time not in use. Sturdy and secured, very confortable and spacious compared with infant carier.

Good quality car seat although not the easiest to install. It was also heavy/bulky to transport when travelling aboard but the [...]car seat bag helped! I'm glad I bought it and I would recommend it.

I bought the concord ultimax because it was one of the few rearward & forward facing carseats that fit into a 03 Ford Focus. We bought the carseat when our son who had outgrown his original seat was 6mths; he weighed over 9kg but had only just learnt to sit up so we wanted him to stay rearward facing. He is so comfortable in it & finds it very easy to sleep in! He can also see around him quite well. I'm sure he will really enjoy the seat when it is forward facing as it has differing postions. It was easy to install once we had managed to disconnect the chair from the base & I really like the colour coding on the base which makes it very easy to see where the seatbelt should go.

I bougth this seat when my son was 9 months old and too long for his infat carrier seat. The Ultimax allowed me to keep him in the rear-facing position until 18 months old, and then we swapped it round. When installed forward-facing, it is very easy to recline without disturbing a sleeping child. Hight-adjustable headrest is also great. My son will soon be 4 years old we will be moving him into a high back booster, but I am struggling to find anything that feels as comfortable and safe as Ultimax. On the downside - the seat is heavy, and while the detachable base is relatively easy to install (diagrams on the base are helpful), it is a bit cumbersome to uninstall, so not the best choice to move between cars. I only took it out of the car a few times over the last 3 years, so it didn't bother me. Once installed, though, it does not move an inch - sideways or up-down. Overall a very good seat and great value for money.
