The main concern for us was safety. After some research we discovered that a baby's neck is far less likely to withstand a head-on collision whist facing forward. Therefore having a baby in a rear facing seat for as long as possible is so important for their safety as their head is more supported. Why put them at risk and use a front facing car seat from 9 months?? It is more difficult to see what they are up to but this is a small price to pay for the knowledge you have them in the safest place. We looked into getting a seat that went from 9 months (we had a baby capsule to start with) to 11 years but discovered the only thing we would have to buy in future was a booster seat which is not very expensive. Best thing about this item is you can buy the additional tray which snaps on and gives a table for the child's toys, etc.
It's a little fiddly to clip them in but it's a good seat without a doubt.
A little outdated now. The Concorde is more up to date but harder to move between cars.
I bought this car seat because we already had an identical one for my older child. Its really padded and comfy. The only problem is adjusting the straps - it's quite fiddly to get your fingers round the back to change the slots but to be honest it's the only one i've had so they may all be the same.
We did buy this for our new baby as it was 0+ to avoid having to buy a replacement at 6 months, however our baby was premature (5lb) and it doesn't really suit such a small baby
I use this seat all the time it is safe and much more comfy than our previous one but it sits high on the back seat and is difficult to get baby in and out of when rear facing
Easy to use web site, great value for money, [$]cheaper than Mothercare[...]- made me the favourite Auntie ever!!!
Very comfortable baby seat. Baby can look out of car window (as position is higher than previous car seat), so baby has more to look at. It was a good value for money purchase as well.
grandson is large for his age group so this is a really comfortable carseat and he is much happier now he can see whats happening around him with space to feel both comfortable and secure.
Great product, bought at discount. [...]
I use this for my 9month old as a foward facing in the back seat. I have to transfer it at least once a week to another car and find it quick and easy to do. It is very well padded and the shoulder staps are easy to adjust. The fastner feels a little fiddly for the first couple of goes but as with all these things become second nature very quickly!
So I was looking for rear-facing car seat. This one was/is the best one that I found and I think is great VFM and you get a great head and back support for a newborn baby. It is so easy to fit (yes even mums can get it by ourselves). I currently have it in the rear-facing position but there is one down side and that is when you have it in this position it is difficult to put a young child in. On the side that the car seat is because the seat belt blocks you being able to put your baby in, so you have to go around and put your baby in from the other side and not from the side that the car seat is on.
What i like about this car seat is that i can use it both rear and forward facing and its so easy to transfer from one car to another, which helps if you are a 2 car family.
Our baby also loves it as everytime he sits in his new seat he always falls asleep so it must be very cosy for him !
i think the product overall is a brilliant buy as its from birth to 4 years but i think its a bit big but overall its brilliant i would recomend this carseat!!!!!!!!!!!
Really pleased with seat,[...] especially price!
This is the only seat I have found to fit my car, a Citroen Xsara, without causing buckle-crunch. The seat has an alternative routing which I am able to use; and, as a big bonus, my grandchildren prefer it to other seats because it sits high and they can see out of the window. Unfortunately the instructions are confusing. First, they tell you how to fit it the "normal" way. Then, if that has causes buckle crunch, they tell you to try the "alternative" method. However, I didn't read the "normal" instruction because I already knew it caused buckle crunch. I had checked it out in Mothercare. If you do as I did, you will fit the seat wrongly because the "alternative" instruction assumes you have just tried the "normal" way and it is all buckled up the "normal" way. They take you from there. If instead you haven't started to buckle it up, the instruction leads to a wrong fitting. Bear this in mind when you buy and you'll be fine.
Affordable and comfortable, however, instructions were not very easy to follow and we found installation difficult.
The biggest problem I have now that my son is 8 months is that as the seat is still rear facing, he needs to squeeze through a very small gap between the seat belt that and the top of the car to get into the car seat.
I bumped his head quite a few times in the process!
This the only seat to safely fit into our car, so if you have problems with the size of car seat buckle then this seat should fit. Great seat position, high up so they can see lots out of the window. And can be used rear and forward facing.
The main advantage to us was having 2 seat belt options so it will fit in both cars. Looks comfortable and easy to take off covers.
The only bad design is the button to release the straps is not easy to get to and press.
Brillernt car seat (First Class Si)Its all I need for my child to be safe whilst travelling in car.[...]
its a great car seat and was very easy to put in and its great to be able to use from birth and will last until my grandson it 4. i would recomend one to my friends and family.
A great seat; looks stylish, sturdy and safe. Very comfortable (our baby can't stay awake for long in it!), and very practical. The mesh fabric seat cover keeps baby cooler in hot weather, and it is very easily removed for cleaning. The elastic strap retainers are very handy. Plenty of legroom so that it can be used rear-facing for long skinny babies until they reach 9Kg. High seat position allows baby to look out the rear/side windows. Fairly quick and easy to install and adjust - useful if you need to transfer the seat between cars regularly. Reclines in rear and forward facing positions. So good, we brought it back from the UK to NZ with us! (Note: we bought this seat when our baby was 9 months old and haven't tested its suitability for newborns).
After buying a 0+ car seat only to discover at 3 months he was to big for it this universal (front and rear facing seat) offered him great safety and superb space and comfert!
Unfortunately, our daughter grew so much so that this car seat got a bit tight around the shoulders very quickly. Yet, my friend's baby, who is now the new owner of the car seat, is petite and fits very well in it. before you buy go and test. the seat itself is great.
This is a wonderful car seat has soon as my 9 month old gets in it, he sleeps. Expecting twins in March so will certainly be buying two more! Easy to install and lovely recline positions.
Brilliant design, lets the child sit quite high up so can see out the window. Easy and gentle recline so when they drift off to sleep you can lay them back. Nice soft material. A littl tricky to install but once in very sturdy.
I find this seat really easy to install. We chose it as it fits in older cars with long seat belt stems. It is easy to get the child in to as not to much bulky padding around the head. She easily falls asleep in the car, showing it is comfortable. We bought two as they are so cheap. One for each car.
So far we are really pleased with this product however, my baby is big for only four months old. He currently looks very secure and cosy in his new seat, but I am not yet convinced it will last until he is four years old??
And it fits rear facing on the back seat of my Peugeot 206!
