We think this seat is brilliant, it takes you from newborn to around 4 years old and so eliminates the need to keep buying new seats. You'd think the price would be expensive to reflect this but Kiddicare sell it for around half the price that you find in the shops. We are so pleased with it that this is the thrid we have bought....one for the grandparents and now another for our second car.

[...]This seat was purchased because the old seat was too small. My baby who is nine months old has now got room to move around. He looks happier, content & I'd even go so far as to say smug as the seat looks far comfier than the car's seats. But above all else the baby is well protected & secure from all sides. It is also far easier to put him in and take him out. A well designed and thought out product, money well spent!

This is a very safe sturdy seat and very good in for your pocket as price for this seat is very good. Love the safety harness as is easy to loosen and tighted to fit with just a push of the button and pull the straps, ideal when one day the weather warm so no coat and then next day cold and coat needed, so the harness can be quickly moved to fit each trip.
Would buy this product again if another child comes but this seat will last years!!

Our boy is just 6 months old, so didnt try this from newborn. With the recline in forward position our boy is very happy to be facing forwards and is able to look at something other than the seat. Much better than the backward seat he just come from. Easy to strap child in with the 5 point harness. Would make sure that your baby is able or strong enough to be forward facing at this age.

Britax have come up trumps- and Big A loves being able to see stuff now! His head remains well supported when he sleeps and it's very easy to recline mid journey.

It took me about 10 minutes to follow instructions, adjust and install. But then I relish flat pack furniture challenges.

Big A is 7 months so I can't say how suitable it would be from newborn. When I find out I'll let you know!

I have a convertible ( Vauxhall Tigra) car so I was very concerned about the safety of a car seat as it had to go in the front seat. However after great research and now using this seat for my wonderful little grandson my fears have been allayed. This is a really easy to install and very sturdy seat. I feel safe in knowing that the baby is very protected and also comfortable in this seat. I've read reviews about this seat being too high, heavy, cumbersome; fact is would you want to entrust the safety of your child a seat that wasn't heavy and sturdy?? [...]

This product has been very useful to us as our baby outgrew his newborn car seat early as he is very long, but wasn't big enough for us to buy a forward facing chair yet. This way we have a seat that will last a long time, and we can turn to forward facing when he is older. We also like the fact that he is very comfortable in it, and the side padding means he is supported when he falls asleep. It is very easy to adjust to lean backwards so his head doesn't fall forwards when he sleeps. The only disadvantage we have found is that when it is rear facing it is difficult to get him in without bumping his head on the car as the seat is quite high and bulky.

Very nice car seat, sturdy and very safe. We bought it as our two month old baby is very tall and his other car seat was getting too small. Therefore we needed a rear and forward facing car seat. As we use it rear facing, it takes a bit too much space and it is a bit difficult to access as the side area is a bit small. But when the baby is in, it is perfect. Very easy to install.

Pros:
Very Safe
Bottom Line:

I have experienced lots of different car seats as a nanny but decided on first class for my first child. It did not disappoint. I was in a car crash in Dec and had my 11mth old daughter in the first class. The car rolled over and was written off. My daughter did not even have a scratch, thanks to this seat. Well done Britax!!

By Concerned FatherVerified Purchaser from Salisbury on 2/4/2008
Cons:
Hard to Install, Poor Lateral stability
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

On instalation it was apparent that the product has very little lateral stability. i took it to a number of outlets to check installation [...]this product was poor for rear facing use with New Born Babies.i have had to purchase a second seat to cover the interim period between rear facing and forward facing positions.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delievery was very good and prompt.

I did a lot of research into car seats and was amazed at how much safer it is for a child to be rear facing (do a search on 'importance of rear facing' on[@]). I decided that I definitely did not want to turn my baby around at 9 months when he was grown out of his carry car seat. And my research led me to this car seat. This car seat is great. It's comfy and means I can keep my baby rear facing for many months to come. And when I do decide to turn him round I can use this car seat too.It is very high and I struggle a little to get my baby in at times as my car is quite small, but it's worth it and the height means he can see out the back window.

This was the only car seat that I could find to fit my Suzuki Ignis car. It was hard to install, but once in, it's very sturdy. Plus, my toddler loves the fact he's high up in his seat, so he can look out the window and see the world passing by.

we bought this seat for our newborn before she was born, thinking we would get more use out of it than with a carry car seat. this was a good decision as she seems to be growing very fast and I don't think she would have used one of the smaller ones for very long. however, as this seat has to be rear facing when the child is newborn, it makes it a little awkward to put the child in as the belt strap gets in the way of the door space as it wraps round the back of the baby seat. as you have to lift the baby over the seatbelt, you have to be very careful not to knock her head on the roof. once in, the seat is comfortable and feels very safe and sturdy. obviously this problem will resolve when she is big enough to turn the seat front-facing as the belt will no longer have to go round the seat.

My son is only 5.5 months old but is big for his age so we decided to go for a car chair that accomodated from birth to 4 yrs. The product arrived and is lightweight, easy to install and very sturdy. The fact that it reclines means my son can sleep comfortably in the car without his head tipping backwards and forwards. He seems very happy in the car and I'd recommend this product so far.
