This is a great car seat although it is quite large and bulky. My daughter loved it from the first time I put her in it. It is comfortable and very easy to adjust the straps. I checked to see that it fitted my car before purchasing, I highly recommend doing this.

We use this seat daily and the best feature is the ease with which you can recline the seat, it is a comfortable seat with plenty of support for the baby's head. Have had removable car seats before as part of a travel system - but definately prefer this seat. The price was also very good.

Far better than the all in one travel systems. Cost me [$] and is expected to last for 4 years. Brilliant. Easy to install but was a bit tricky to adjust. Once you get the hang of it thought it is no problem !

We use this car seat for our granddaughter, but it is versatile enough so we will also be able to use it for our new grandchild who is due in February.
This car seat not only looks nice, but is solid and safe and the fitting was easy. However, we feel that a little more padding would be nice as it is a little too solid to the touch.
Bulky and heavy but comfortable.

It is absolutely fine. I wouldn't want to be getting it in and out all of the time and it is quite an effort to get baby installed in the back of a three door hatchback but it's sturdy and baby goes to sleep quickly and with a minimum of whingeing.

I didn't really get a choice when I needed a second stage car seat for my toddler. For some strange reason this is the only car seat that fits properly in the back seat of my car, and that's only because it has the alternate routing option which other car seats do not have.
Saying that it does the job perfectly, and my toddler is very comfortable. The only problem I have is that it is quite bulky and my front seats don't give him a lot of room. It is quite tricky getting him in and out of it as my car is very low so you have to get a knack of holding him and popping him in the seat without bumping his head on the door surround. My car is only an Escort so no sports car so I do wonder why it is so tricky to get a car seat for it. The other thing I'd like to mention is it can be used from birth in the front, rear facing but I can't use it in the front as it's too bulky and wobblys around in the seat belt. So I had to get the Britax rock a tot which fits perfectly.
Simple and safe, great value.

Easy to use and install.
Can use backward facing for newborns and then turn it around to forward facing when baby reaches 9kg - it is fantastic....saves having to buy 2 car seat.
Comes with a newborn insert.
Seat can be reclined easily.

Being first time parents meant we had no experience of fitting a car seat but the instructions were a doddle.
This seat is smart looking and does the job. It will last for up to 5 years too so no expense of changing once your new-born gets a bit too big.

The only negative comment I have is not just with this car seat in particular - but all of these type of car seats - easy to install but adjusting the straps takes so much time - I understand that they need to be secure but surley there is an easier way to construct them?

As new parents we have nothing to compare this to but after the intial struggle of getting it fitted in the car we have been very impressed with it. Seemed to be comfortable for her as a newborn and as a 4 month old without the insert and can see still plenty of room to accomade her growth for a few more years yet.
Ours is fitted in the middle of our 3 seater back seat but it is on the LH rear of the grandparents car. not sure if they have fitted it incorrectly but they have to squeeze baby between strap and roof to drop her into the seat. not sure if this is the same with all seats when rear facing or because they have fitted it incorrectly but it is fiddly for them.
Lots of people struggle with the clip mechanism but it's fine for us as we've got the knack from 100s of times of practice. Again, this may be similar to other carseats but as newbies we don't have anything to compare it too.
Overall, we are extremely pleased and even though there are a couple of small niggly points the product is great value for money and feels safe for our daughter.

My son is very big for his age so it was great to find a car seat that was bigger then the infant carrier but was also rear facing. The best part is that now he can sit up we can use it forward too so its great value for money too.

Main problem is the difficulty with the straps and when rear facing the seatbelt position means you have to pick the baby up over it (which is very close to the top of the car in ours - Audi A4)

This carseat is very good quality and well padded not like cheap alternatives, the mechanism is good and works with ease to relaese straps and tighten up. If my car had isofix points i would have bought a second Britax Isofix seat instead, The isofix fixing are far more secure and hold the seat sturdy, but in this instance the freelander does not have isofix points so we chose the best alternative.

Great because it can be used from birth to 4 years, so saves you money in the long run. I like the adjustable seat so it can go from upright to a nice sleepy position.
Only slightly annoying thing is it take a lot to tighten it on the rear seats even though the Britax site recommended it for my make of car front and rear.
